I hope all the folks standing behind Trump feel real good about being the backdrop for the racist ravings of a jerk.
Trump: "It’s a hellhole right now. And those Somalians should be out of here. They've destroyed our country. And all they do is complain, complain, complain. You have her. She’s always talking about the Constitution provides me with – go back to your own country and figure out your constitution."

Vanity Fair hired Olivia Nuzzi to be its LA bureau chief. Rolling Stone it is! Goodbye Vanity Fair, you were once great.

Debunking myths about Mother Rosa Parks, an icon of the Civil Rights Movement and (as we knew her growing up) a great Detroiter. 💐
Today is the 70th anniversary of Rosa Parks' arrest. Six myths: 1) She wasn't old or tired. 42 years old that day, she had a "life history of being rebellious" & had spent two decades helping to turn the Montgomery NAACP into a more activist branch alongside ED Nixon and Johnnie Carr.

Hell of a thread:
Ukraine relations get even more chaotic. Two factions - Kushner/Witkoff and Vance/Driscoll - are both freelancing to set US policy: cutting out the State Dept, pushing Ukraine to surrender, then leaking to press to claim they are official. Why? Putin is desperate and has called in his assets. A 🧵 1/

Suddenly remembering the time The Washington Post gave a strong review to a book critical of Opus Dei only to have the paper's executive editor, whose father was a priest, write a defense of the book for a Catholic publication.
BREAKING: Pope Leo XIV is set to effectively disband Opus Dei in the coming weeks.

This would be the most sweeping internal reform of his pontificate — and a dramatic continuation of Pope Francis’s legacy.
NEW: Pope Leo Set To Break Up Opus Dei
If Pope Leo does indeed approves a plan that effectively dissolves Opus Dei’s structure, it would be the most significant internal action of his short pontificate to date.
