This study used the Sentinel-3 Cyanobacteria Index (CI-cyano) products, that we generate at NASA, to assess impacts of varying observational frequency on data distributions and trends.
Recommendations for temporal aggregation of water quality data from multi-platform satellite constellations
Satellite constellations often launch platforms over several years, increasing observational frequency and capturing additional, potentially more extreme, events. Consequently, reported changes in ...

When I see these "cat returns after X years/ 1000 miles" posts. I always think "there are a lot of similar looking cats". This one was chipped!
Sherlock the cat solved his own mystery, after being missing for 12 years in Belfast, Northern Ireland.
On the 29th September Sherlock's mum got a call from a vet to say that he had been found.

Oreosomatidae have incredibly long lifespans. Otolith dating has identified some species that live longer than 200 years. It's not just a pet, it's a commitment.
This Oreosomatidae looks unique, and neat to see it up in the water column! @schmidtocean.bsky.social dive 875 #asgardarchaea #MarineLife

So, you think the guy who bought a handgun and perpetrated a mass shooting did NOT assimilate to US culture?
Stephen Miller is now arguing that assimilation is fundamentally impossible and that certain cultures are not compatible with Western civilization

So Thanksgiving was a success and to continue a 25-year tradition, today I put my brain on 50% setting and the only energy I expend is to run the dishwasher and nuke some leftovers.

Viva the Friday after Thanksgiving.

I stopped by the clean room assembly bay today, to check the progress on the Nancy Grace Roman space telescope. It is currently expected to be launched to a Sun–Earth L2 orbit some time between the fall of 2026 and May 2027. #NASA #GSFC

NASA continues to lie and obfuscate when pressed by Congress on the destruction occurring at GSFC.
Lawmakers call on NASA inspector general to investigate Goddard Space Flight Center as agency defends campus closures: Exclusive
"If this is how the agency handles one of its most high-profile flagship missions, how many other missions are in imminent danger of being irrevocably lost?"

Stiil waiting for my car.
Fortunately, our music director has fallen asleep. 💤
I looked up from my book, and see this on the TV. Took me a couple of panicked seconds to realize it is a seasonal outlook.

About 5 miles of my evening commute is on winding, unlit, two-lane roads and the clowns with the LED lights make it a real challenge. The problem is compounded by folks with conventional highbeams who don't dim them until they have already blinded you, if at all. And get off my lawn...
i think if you want to have those disgusting LED headlights on your car, you should have to do a test where they blast you point blank with your own headlights and then you have 15 seconds to successfully complete some sort of vision-based task, and if you can't do it they push your car off a cliff

I saw a quote from the NASA Press Secretary in the Baltimore Sun calling these reports lies. The rot goes all the way to Headquarters.
Goddard Space Center staff say they're 'constantly being attacked' by the White House
The Goddard Space Center is one NASA's crown jewels of science. But in recent months, staff say they've been in the White House's crosshairs, subjected to a campaign of chaos and reorganization.

I don’t know which word or phrase among gens alpha and beta it will be - maybe sus, maybe gyatt - but at least one will be the title of a movie within 5 years.

60% chance it’s a mediocre romcom, 40% it’s a mediocre horror flick.

No, no, you don't understand. Epstein, who was in his 60s, didn't like 8-year-old girls, he liked 15-year-old girls who could pass for younger. See? it's all a big misunderstanding...
