I have been snorkelling, and regretting not bringing the waterproof camera. Surge wrasses are very pretty.

Sadists.

One of the things you realize is true but sounds weird when you put it into words is that *sadism is now central to Republican culture*.

They have no policy. No morality. No integrity. Their culture is based on "drinking liberal tears." Delighting in the suffering of others.

Sadism.

Turning toward machines for love, care, and companionship is not evidence of societal ingenuity, it’s evidence of societal collapse.

Hyperwealthy pedophilic genocidal dickweeds versus the rest of humanity - The Shot
It really is the 1% versus the rest of us. The stakes couldn't be higher. And the enemy could not be more depraved. Still, we'll win.

Ok hive mind, I ditched Spotify a while back, and am looking for a better music platform to use when I'm travelling.

I'm about to be offline for a week, so recommendations appreciated.

We’re also answering the question “could we band together to collectively fight worse global pandemics?”

And we’re answering “could we choose to change our conveniences in order to protect the livability of the planet for our own children, & every generation after them?”

We’re answering right now.

The way we have normalized the lack of consumer/public control over the software & hardware we use for everything is the one reason I think there is any merit to the idea of "techno-feudalism". Right to repair is low key one of the most important liberation movements of our time.

What "AI" increasingly offers is a way to avoid any emotional discomfort. Fear of ignorance, rejection, and now grief.

The frictionless ideal of tech is a poison. It's through experiencing discomfort and connecting with others that we grow. Shockingly, many of us choose to shortchange ourselves.
For real, check this out. Evil.

Journalists or anyone who who wants to bring attention to the stadium decision in Tas, be quick! IMO it is an issue of national significance to see big business colluding with government to bleed an already disadvantaged population dry. Upper house debate starts Wednesday, vote probably Thursday.

Ok, that's the house made festive for this year. I think the wall unit needs a second fish tank though. 🤔

Ok, a shuffling jog, but i did it. I haven't been able to run since march due to injury, so this is terribly exciting for me.

The Christmas Season is about to start… our tree and decorations are going up this weekend.

For those of us who are able, let’s do the season of giving right by donating gifts for kids in families facing tough times, and helping your local food bank.

Thanks, and Happy Holidays.

This article is worth reading. Much of it applies equally to Australia, and it's brewing an ugly crisis here too.

What and how we measure economic performance really matters, and our current models are based on lies.

It is devastating to watch folks I previously considered clever or reliable or both abdicate progressively more of their critical thinking to LLMs. Our ability to reason, be wrong, correct ourselves and grow is so precious. I wish I understood why they're so happy to give it away?
