Exactly,Zaslav & the board wanted to split the company as planned but Skydance wanted to get WBD for the wrong reasons especially when they're taking the torch to Paramount,WBD is smart enough to stay away from them.
And it’s literally Skydance’s fault for rushing the buyout so soon when WBD wasn’t exactly ready to sell at this point

I understand that no one has to be a fan about or like Netflix buying WB because I feel the same way but letting WB/WBD be in the hands of Skydance/Ellisons would have been a lot worse. Netflix doesn't even have a major studio but if they get WB they're gonna have to change their culture & business.

Trust me, had David Zaslav warmed up to the Ellisons and decided to merge WBD with Paramount, it would've most likely been a disaster and would've completely destroyed the Warner Bros. studio. Be thankful that we dodged that bullet. (2/7)

If I were in charge of WBD I would have still had the split but I would have done it differently,Keep everything the same w/the streaming & studios but made an exception of keeping the Turner Channels other than TCM but I would have let CNN go w/Discovery side since its become a liability.

A clear understanding why WBD chose Netflix because Netflix doesn't have a major studio to be exact and if other bidders like Apple made an unexpected surprise bid for it that would have been the same case. Plus I'll willing to bet Zaslav wants to stay in charge on the WB side after the split/sale.

WBD had the split planned around next year but due to the Ellisons trying to buy the whole company is the reason they announced the bidding war earlier than expected but lets be serious Zaslav or the Board had not intentions to sell to Skydance period especially how they're treating Paramount/CBS.

Hate the fact that WB,Well the people on the corporate side aren't confident in themselves to see that they're better off being independent but I guess it's just a money grab to sell themselves to the highest bidder than not realizing the damage it will do around the entertainment industry.

Crazy thing happened the other night while I was watching Boomerang,I realized they never aired The Smurfs Eight Season in the channel's existence neither CN's I should know because the first appearance of Nanny Smurf in the series I probably don't remember due to the syndicated eps we're use to.

For people who have been following this story, the idea that some large company would buy Warner-Discovery was a given. Netflix is probably the least bad option. Paramount Skydance would be the worst. But for those coming to this fresh, it sounds like really bad news compared to nothing happening.

All this drama over WBD is ludicrous-ly insane. First of all I'm have mixed feelings about Netflix owning WB post-split,I don't like the entire situation especially the split from the beginning but Ellisons would have done much worse damage if they gotten it especially in the orange devil pocket.
