Anyway, thanks to a friend of mine elsewhere, I learned that there was a Magic Tree House movie from Japan that was released over a decade ago, as the book series there is wildly popular!

And I've heard of the books before, but never read them. Are they any good? 🙂

OK, one more (for now): Currently in development, the Australian-Canadian series The Eerie Chapters of Chhaya is about a girl and her dad who run a bookstore, which it turns to be full of spells 🙂

In a recent oral history for New York Magazine, Ron Howard revealed the Dr. Seuss estate initially wanted Jack Nicholson to portray the Grinch in live action.

Coincidentally, a 1994 TNT making-of for the animated special featured Phil Hartman portraying…a Jack Nicholson Grinch.

Have some incredible pencil tests from How the Grinch Stole Christmas. The Chuck Jones classic will always and forever be my definitive version of the Dr. Seuss tale. That animation and Boris Karloff's voice really just bring it all together.
