My digital sculpture of the Water-Moon Avalokitesvara is complete!
A serene figure from Buddhist tradition, Avalokitesvara - also known as Guanyin in China and Kannon in Japan - embodies compassion itself.

I think I lost 98% of the audience I gained from doing fanart when I moved here and started focusing on original art, but I don't regret it...
I'm dealing with less imposter syndrome now plus my account has grown just as much in half the time (thank you everyone, thank you Starter Pack!)

I'm pretty much an outsider (and a new-comer) to my local 3d art community where anime and manga aesthetics are very dominant.
There are some who work with realistic animal sculpting or creature design, but I'm waaay outside of any of the zones atm.

I wanna be more here ! But I can't find 3d artists
Any 3D artist friends you'd recommend I follow?

Added skin and fur this week :)
The line between just enough detail and too much is very thin...
There are some areas I am no proud of, but I think I managed to make his face handsome, like Legoshi 🐺💖

Seeing a dog owner carrying their lazy pug down the stairs made my day.
Also, after nerding out about the Star Trek franchise forever, my spouse asked if we could watch the entire series together from beginning to end. Yaaay now I’m just wondering how long that would take…🧓🧓

I was just accused for using A* when I sincerely responded to their question in a DM... Since when did people start accusing people for writing gramatically correct, unbroken sentences?

Their reaction broke my heart because I put real effort into explaining things as clearly as I could...

Week 5 into the Animal sculpting mentorship with Gael Kerchenbaum.
Added skin on the wolf ecorche I've been working on for the past couple of weeks. Going to add some fur now!

This is a very interesting result. I watched CSI: Miami during my lunch break yesterday. Apparently the calming effect only happens when I watch Star Trek (still need to test it on TOS, VOY, and ENT)

I think I’ll keep sculpting Buddhist-themed sculptures a while longer before moving on to more mythical creatures and legendary figures.

Star Trek: TNG is so interesting to watch now that I've been diagnosed with everything I have.
Worf is clearly uncomfortable with socializing but tries so hard out of politeness. I feel you brother...

It finally dawned on me that Online Visibility has less to do with popularity and more to do with searchability (the uproar of “Duhs”).
Establishing a clear direction, building a portfolio and website, and choosing a searchable name and IDs…are what's important.
Mission accomplished!

Watching Star Trek: TNG during lunch had the same calming effect on my stress levels. Notice how it spikes the moment lunch break ends lol

Been reducing my caffeine intake for about a month, avoiding coffee at all costs. But today, I was feeling foggy, and so unbelievably sleepy I couldn't even sit up straight while working... I finally gave in and had a café au lait. And BAM! Suddenly my mind was clear and sharp. It was scary...

Someone told me yesterday people don't read my blogs nor understand what I sculpt because nobody is interested in Buddhist iconography...
Which is actually the whole point.
I make these sculptures because nobody makes them.

I always feel a bit sad when I finish a project. But now that it's finished and out in the field, I'll focus on my ongoing animal sculpting mentorship for the rest of the year.

Randomly wondering if people in Star Trek use bathrooms… I think about this every few years or so, but I don’t think I’ve ever heard them mention toilets in any series.
Just can’t help giggling at the idea that they ‘energize’ it all out into space...
