It's a beautiful art. Like a good scrum, gods work, really.

Beautiful brutality.

That was tonight's movie. A solid directorial offering from John Woo.

I have. I do have to admit it was the underrated gem of the early 2000s overshadowed by the Matrix.

Hollywood does love to copy, rizz up and let down all at the same time.

It really is. And a time capsule of a Hong Kong that no longer exists.

He and John Woo worked on A Better Tomorrow 1&2, Hark was the producer on both.

He directed A better Tomorrow 3.

I dont know if I'd call him before John Woo.

I was expecting you were gonna blow my mind with some sort of hidden fact or movies that John Woo ripped off.

No honest question. Who before John Woo was doing choreographed and stylized mix of martial arts and firearms as the focal centre piece of the movie?

As far as I've ever heard anyone speak of it, John Woo started that in 1985 with A Better Tomorrow.
torontoboris.bsky.social
Huh?

Who before John Woo was it that started it in HK cinema in the 80s?

Once again paying homage to John Woo, the grandfather of Gun Fu.
