I have no sympathy for this. Annex residents complain that the a bikeway one street over has increased traffic on their street, but they don't want their street traffic calmed, they just want the bikeway ripped out. A failure of imagination.

On this day in 1943, the first female conductor appeared on a TTC streetcar due to a labour shortage caused by the war. Unfortunately, all female operating staff had been laid off by July 1946.

On this day in 1861, Toronto rolled out a brand-new way to travel: Canada’s very first streetcar line, running along Yonge Street. Operated by the Toronto Street Railway, the debut was marked with great fanfare.
