Grizzly spotted on Specimen Ridge in Yellowstone

This is not uncommon. Grizzlies may exit a den if there is a food source nearby but according to the photographer this bear was just ambling about.

I took this image a few years ago while hiking along the Rescue Creek Trail. It was a rare and exciting moment in the backcountry.
