If you're trying your absolute best to put into the world what you'd like to see more of and feeling completely overwhelmed, please read this:

You are NOT wrong.
It is NOT pointless.

Fascism works exactly how it's making you feel:

Depleted. Run-down.

Recharge when you must. Then keep being you.

Serious question to all my #publishing friends, #authors, and #bookshops out there... Are there any established book distributors for queer/trans indie presses? Not amazon or ingramspark or any of those routes. An actual company choosing to work with queer presses.

Which work? Calling for gay people to be stoned to death? Blaming airplane crashes on black pilots? Anti-vax bullshit? Election denialism? Pushing Great Replacement Theory?

Kirk’s murder is awful and ominous for this country. But no, we don’t need to honor him or “continue his work.”

You are under no obligation to mourn the death of people who would’ve celebrated yours.

“Libraries should be beautiful and open; inviting, not intimidating. It’s not a shrine, but a place where you can spend time freely, take part in discussions, public consultations, or meet people,” he says.

Small Robin Press is still just a tiny fledgling in the world of books, but we don't mind being small. Our submissions will be opening soon (October 1, to be specific) for our next anthology. Is it too early to get excited about that?

Never Newsom. Never.

To highlight the same shit we’ve been saying for at least a month now, here are bullet points from Dr Stryker’s speech below to explain exactly why trans people will not be accepting Newsom.

Dems, I’m begging y’all to elevate someone who meets the moment.
- Blocked/buried protective legislations in
CA to avoid national political fallout
- Said existing quality protections too far
- Claimed to not "understand" pronoun controversy
- Embraced right wing talking points against trans people
- Suggested <25 trans healthcare ban
- Told multiple RW podcasts too quick to ask on some issues, *now* he's done his homework.

This from Riley Gaines is why trans people freak out when Democrats try to carve out some compromise over sports. The politicians and activists attacking trans people are not interested in compromise! They're interested in our eradication from public life and are exploiting sports to that end
This is Ms. Gaines’s intuition as an activist, too: If people accept the premise that transgender women do not belong in women’s sports, then they have conceded that transgender women are not fully, truly women.

As she sees it, more sweeping restrictions of transgender people flow from there, including the Supreme Court’s recent ruling that states can ban gender-affirming care for minors and the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Committee’s change of its eligibility rules to bar transgender women from competing in Olympic women’s sports.

“The gender ideology movement is a house of cards, and I believe it’s lying on that sports issue,” she said. “This will be the card that makes all of it crumble.”

It is so wild seeing a bunch of people in the replies telling trans people to shush under a video of a trans woman talking about how we are always shushed! Way to prove our point! Maybe listen to us when we talk about Newsom and stop shushing us?

Sometimes I do, too, and I'm years into my transition. So instead, I try to think about the little things that make me feel happier, more joyful, more me. Whether or not I *really* am trans is subjective anyway. But do I like my beard? Hell yes I do. That's enough for today.
