All of the credit for the destruction of the CDC and the health and safety of the United States goes to the Republican Congress and the MAGA voters who elected them.

If they ever realize what they have done, it will be far too late.

I'm just one person, and my programming needs are somewhat unusual (building various kinds of statistical forecasting models). But I'm just not seeing the consistent productivity gains from LLMs that I would have expected if you'd asked me 6 months ago.
transitfossil.bsky.social
no, they should not.

I don't believe a one-time payment is nearly sufficient.

all material used for training remains in the model as long as it runs. providers of training material should be paid in a stream out of profits generated. like royalties for musicians, but more generous.

I understand what the KJV is and what the implications are.

I know what the original sources were, but I obviously haven't read them myself.

transcribed, translated, argued over in committee, reduced from 80 to 66 books arbitrarily.

all still fiction. not divine. doesn't change anything.

I have read the Bible. read it from Genesis to Revelation. Indoctrinated as a child. I know what they think b/c I was taught it, too.

thank goodness for a science education, courage, and a lot of thought.

christians share what with me? you make less sense with each post.
transitfossil.bsky.social
I've read plenty of books.

Harry Potter keeps it simple for folks with limited understanding.

it has those three features from the Bible: prophecy, miracles, and resurrection.

I'll quote what I like to make my point.

thanks.
transitfossil.bsky.social
you believe the Qu'ran and the Bible are literal truth.

I do not.

I can say with confidence that there have never been prophecies, miracles, or resurrections.

no midnight ride. no splitting the moon. no sun stopping in the sky. no graves opening.

you say they are all possible. 😂
transitfossil.bsky.social
it's always been Trump first.

anyone who thought otherwise was the con man's mark.
transitfossil.bsky.social
I think there are some things that are objectively true.

those are true for everyone, regardless of belief.

I think the scientific method is the best bullshit filter ever invented by humans.

done more to improve the human condition in its 350 years than all faith combined.
transitfossil.bsky.social
Eugenics was disproven decades ago.

Keep up.
transitfossil.bsky.social
I don’t being fluent in Arabic makes the Qu’ran less fictional.

Bible is still fiction in the original Hebrew, Aramaic, Greek, etc.

His citation of astrophysics is his lame idea of an argument from authority. He imagines that he is the only person in the convo with a knowledge of physics. Hopes we all bow down to his superior knowledge.
transitfossil.bsky.social
I care b/c they are destroying my country but I give no credence to their pronouncements.

Not scientifically provable.

This conversation is over if you equate me with them.
transitfossil.bsky.social
Yeah, go look into those heaven and hell claims. Come back with some evidence and I’ll believe you.
transitfossil.bsky.social
Whatever. You believe anything.
transitfossil.bsky.social
Not weird. An example of myth.

I’m no white nationalist. Don’t give a damn what nonsense they spout.
transitfossil.bsky.social
Wrong again.

Proof that you don’t what is in my mind.

I say the Bible is a primitive fiction. Resurrection, prophecy, & miracles don’t happen in this universe.

All happened in Harry Potter. Fiction set in London. Not real.
transitfossil.bsky.social
I do not believe that I can know everything in someone else’s mind.

I can only judge as best I can from what I observe.
transitfossil.bsky.social
Willing to consider new evidence.

I guess you are so open to new stuff that anything goes.

I guess that is where multiverses, holograms, and string theory come from.

No experimental confirmation needed.
transitfossil.bsky.social
Yup.

Funny claims from an astrophysicist.
transitfossil.bsky.social
I can read and enjoy Norse mythology.

Never occurred to me than Odin and Thor were real.
transitfossil.bsky.social
Wrong again.

Fiction has value.

Not confusing fiction with non- fiction is the key.

I can read Harry Potter without writing laws based on sayings from the book.

Not so in America.

Christo fascists are writing laws based on their Bible interpretation every day.

I object.
transitfossil.bsky.social
I know enough physics to know we are far from done.

I don’t need to believe in primitive nonsense to figure out new areas to explore.

Reality is enough for me.
transitfossil.bsky.social
Nope. Not qualified.

I can tell when someone believes two contradictory ideas at the same time. Like evolution and Genesis.
