The thing too many ppl get wrong about Andy Kaufman is thinking that he was a comedian. He wasn't. He was a performance artist. He had a magnificent understanding of comedy and he used that knowledge to subvert it and make us think about why we laugh at the things we laugh. That's how I look at it.
