If these positions are not necessary for helping the American people (spoiler: they are), then it doesn’t matter when they are laid off. Otherwise, Trump is holding American jobs and service to the American people hostage to win his fight. He doesn’t care. This is easy to understand.

Remember all the whining about left wing rhetoric inciting violence?

Mike Johnson: "We're so angry about it. I mean, I'm a very patient guy, but I've had it with these people. The theory we have right now -- they have a hate America rally that's scheduled for October 18 on the National Mall. It's the pro-Hamas wing and antifa people ... "

The award for outstanding bothsiderism and normalization of fascism goes to, unsurprisingly, the New York Times.

The appointment of Bari Weiss as head of CBS News is part of a trend pioneered by the Trump administration: giving crucial high level jobs to mediocre and unqualified ideologues. Pete Hegseth, Kash Patel, RFK Jr., etc., etc.

I’m in a similar situation. First novel published after the age of 60.

(Right now I am 59).

I was well over 30 when I wrote and published my first novel, and fully agree with you!
scalzi.com
When I turned 30 I had not yet written my first published book or my first published novel and did not know (or know of) some of the most important people in my life. I didn't know how much my life could still change, and did, after the age of 30. There is so much your life still yet to live.

On one hand, the Democrats have been abysmal at appealing to the working class.

On the other hand, what dipshits.
trepanatus.bsky.social
Oh really? Trump? No one could have expected that

Better headline: “National and Constitutional crisis as deranged President continues to govern in a thoroughly unlawful manner.”

Bari Weiss is set to be named the editor in chief of CBS News, the New York Post reports
Paramount Skydance is poised to name Bari Weiss as editor in chief of CBS News in the coming days — giving the hard-charging journalist unusual clout to revamp the struggling network as it also acquires her scrappy news site the Free Press, The Post has learned.

Weiss — a 41-year-old former New York Times opinion writer who has built the Free Press into a buzzworthy site with a contrarian bent — is expected to be named to the top post in a Monday announcement, although the talks are in flux and the timing could change, a source close to the situation said.

The ADL made its own bed and is lying in it. But nite that the administration that has used “antisemitism” as an excuse to destroy the First Amendment is now attacking an organization supposedly dedicated to fighting antisemitism for not showing due reverence to its favorite antisemite.
queenmab.bsky.social
There is no amount of cozying up to fascism that saves Jews from it. The ADL gave cover for antisemitism and scorched their reputation only for the Trump admin to attack them at the first chance

It’s good that they are going to historians to get the context on this, but it shouldn’t be presented as if it was even remotely debatable.
