The Dow was at 43,488 when Trump took office. It just hit 50,000.

So if you had invested $43,488 in the US, you would now have $50,000. But if you had invested the same amount in the rest of the world, you would now be worth $60,000.

What does “Dow 50,000” actually tell you—anything about the economy, or just that a number got bigger? Dow 50,000 is a milestone, not a measurement. The level of the Dow is basically arbitrary: it’s…

North Carolina lawmakers have voted to remove all college campus voting sites. Specifically at the largest HBCU in the US NC A&T. They now have to walk 30 minutes to their nearest polling place. Students are protesting this - pls share and support.

2/2 It’s obvious these facilities are doomed; if not in a month, then within 3 years; at which time the government will have a fire sale of surplus property for pennies on the dollar of what taxpayer funds acquired them.

1/2 Hear me out: What if this ICE warehouse buying spree isn’t about imprisoning people or grift for private prisons, but rather a red herring for a huge commercial real-estate acquisition scam.

Make the same economic comparison between pretty much any Democratic president and Republican president and the result is always about the same. We are always better off under a Democrat.

A Craigslist listing in the Boston area offered free tickets and $50 per seat to attend screenings of the Melania documentary on its opening weekend. The offer requires attendees to remain in their seats for the entire film.

Nothing could embody the Trump ethos more, and it's goddamned nauseating.

I mean, sure, if there was a war and they snuck up on some soldiers by adopting the trappings of civil aviation, you might call it a war crime. But since there wasn’t one and they snuck up on some civilians who were probably fishermen and at worst drug dealers, it’s just fuckin murder.
Breaking NYT:

The Pentagon used a secret aircraft painted to look like a civilian plane in its first boat attack, according to officials briefed on the matter.

The laws of armed conflict forbid combatants from feigning civilian status.

That is a war crime called "perfidy."

U.S. military spending is set to hit a record $1 trillion.

Roughly half of defense spending goes to private contractors that routinely price-gouge the government.

Meanwhile, the Pentagon has failed EIGHT straight audits.

This is the military industrial complex on steroids.
