ACA = “Obamacare”. Same thing. Its proof that many white folks would rather shoot off their own foot if they knew something helped a black or latino person get by too. Its no different from how they used to fill public pools with cement during integration resulting in everyone being hot & miserable.
America is so racist that some Americans believed SNAP benefits were for white people and food stamps were for black people and they did not know they were the same thing and are now horrified to learn they are losing their food subsidies.

I’m doing research for a project and found out about the “don’t buy where you can’t work” movement during the depression, where Black people boycotted and picketed places that wouldn’t hire us. Shout out to everyone who’s not going back to Target!

I don't know if that's true anymore. Real newspapers have a limited scope, the erosion of local news means that the bar for stuff to get reported on is quite high, and I see stuff on TikTok all of the time that people is saying is happening in their communities that I have no way to verify
I feel one million years old here, but we do actually have a pretty reliable way of knowing what news is true. Did a real newspaper publish it? Then probably yes. Can’t find it in a real newspaper? Maybe not.
A large majority of U.S. adults now get news digitally, but nondigital news consumers are less likely to say they extremely often or often encounter inaccurate news.

Your life is worse off because too many white people hate Black people.

I've said it countless times and I'll never stop telling yall.

White folks will always be willing to harm themselves as long as they know that Black and brown folks are being hurt more because of their actions. Always.

Starving people while building a massive ballroom isn't wise.
The USDA is the fail safe for SNAP.

They have a contingency fund to ensure it’s covered in the event of a shutdown.

They’re refusing.

Grocery stores stepped up to try and help by offering discounts to any SNAP recipients and the USDA told them they had to stop.

Starvation as a policy choice.

I’m so tired of living in a world where everyone is just regurgitating shit and not verifying anything on their own, just posting, reposting, and sharing shit that is factually incorrect to make a point.

I love women so much. If I could exist in a society of only women, I absolutely would.

The Montgomery Bus Boycott lasted over a year.

White America fails to appreciate this.

"Why don't people support welfare programs?"

Racism. More specifically, anti-Blackness.

White folks asked about who welfare serves overestimate the number of Black people on welfare. Not only that, but just the mere THOUGHT of who welfare supports led less white people to support it. #blacksky

Is there a music sharing service now that we shouldn’t use the fascist friendly ones??
I promised myself years ago no more tears over losers. I've not been perfect but I'm doing something for myself today that I'd never thought I'd have to do. But someone has to care about me.
