If you're new to CSS, one of the best ways to make your life easier is to take advantage of all the CSS debugging features in your devtools.

To help, I teamed up with @amitsheen.bsky.social to create a free, 5-part beginner course on getting started with them: devtoolsforbeginners.kevinpowell.co

I love CSS folks. They are soldiers of joy and delight. The world is burning and AI debates have people at each others throats and CSS peeps keep being like “check out this dancing turtle I made out of divs 🥰”

Yesterday, a crowd responded to a federal raid in Minneapolis. Today, something similar happened in Chicago.

ICE has facilities and infrastructure. Rather than waiting for ICE to strike and then attempting to react, one could take the initiative, so as to determine the time and place of conflict.

Confidential records obtained by WIRED & @propertyofthepeople.org show the ag industry deploying moles to infiltrate activist meetings, while functionally serving as FBI informants, in a shadow campaign to brand the animal rights movement America's biggest bioterrorism threat.

My latest @wired.com:
How the Farm Industry Spied on Animal Rights Activists and Pushed the FBI to Treat Them as Terrorists
For years, a powerful ‘Big Ag’ trade group served up information on activists to the FBI. Records reveal a decade-long effort to see the animal rights movement labeled a legitimate terrorism threat.

For years, one of the most befuddling things for me in CSS was how “height: 100%” would sometimes just not work. Every time I tried to use it was a roll of the dice. 😅

Like everything else in CSS, though, it all makes perfect sense when we understand the underlying mechanism. ✨

Let’s explore. 🧵
The Height Enigma • Josh W. Comeau
One of the most perplexing and befuddling things in CSS for me, for many years, was the behaviour of percentage-based heights. Sometimes, seemingly at random, setting “height: 100%” would have no effe...

Imagine dismantling the only federal agency dedicated to uplifting minority businesses—
That’s exactly what Trump did.

The MBDA went from nearly 100 employees to just a few.

You don’t gut an agency like that unless you’re trying to kill its mission.

The Minority Business Development Agency–which employed about 100 workers at full capacity–is reportedly down to one employee.
