My number 1 Heat pump tip is: Check your insulation first! It's typically cheaper than a heat pump install and can *significantly* reduce your energy needs when you do get one.

We love our heat pumps - especially during summer, but on cold winter nights we needed more insulation.

Absolutely - Turned on my "morning breifing" only to turn it off again because NPR's headline on the Gov. Shutdown was "both sides are blaming each-other" and then providing a audio quote from the president without context or correction.

The upstate canal & finger lakes towns manage to do a decent job replicating the walkable rural town core... But they are rare and are almost as expensive as Brooklyn...

Our little one is obsessed with Kiki's Delivery Service and I love it bc:

1. The freedom car-free living gives to teenagers.
2. The only identifiable "bad guys" are the cops, catty teens & burnout.
3. There are safe & wise people out there - Keep an eye out, stick to them & learn what you can.
