The clothing of violence and oppression does not belong at places meant to provide community and support. Fascism isn’t some fun costume. People’s lives are being ruined, so if you’re going to one of the hotspots for ICE cruelty for a con, the least you can do is ensure you’re not furthering trauma.

I got so much shit, for years, about saying cons should ban tactical gear. It was bad to wear it then, but now, with ICE running rampant in the streets, there is absolutely no reason that any con should allow tactical gear on its premises. To do otherwise is cruel at best, dangerous at worst.

I don't think society fully understands the horrible process of becoming homeless. It's not natural, it's the result of a system designed and built to slowly break you until you're on the street.

I literally can't do that. I don't mean that I won't, I mean I can't. I've never been able to consciously smile. I can only smile as like a subconscious reaction. Every time I try to make myself smile my brain literally cannot figure out how it works.
