I'm vacationing in Maine. Did Portland, now in Campten. Did a schooner ride and this afternoon we go on a lobster boat.
Then off to Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park, if it's open.
Foliage not so great this season, drought really affected the colors.

Any insight as to how open the park will be?
I know the shutdown is not going to be over soon, retired Federal Employee and I've been through this before.

We are taking Concord Coach to Portland and then an Uber to the hotel.
Road Scholar trip, Coastal Maine. End up in Bar Harbor.
Looking forward to seeing the leaves change.

For every shutdown I was involved in the non-essential staff had to turn in their laptop and phone.

I'm a retired Federal Employee, essential, and working during a shutdown is not fun.
I was able to get by financially but a lot of people can't.
Be Kind. Especially if you encounter a Federal Employee during the shutdown. It's NOT their fault the museum or park is closed.
