It was about 10 years ago; COVID had a lot of people get into hi-fi when they were stuck at home :-( and Millennials and GenZ or whatever are starting to get into it too and they are on a budget so… prices have gone way up and there’s less stuff out there.
Very sad.

Excited to pick up a pair of these this evening, $1600 msrp ($4500 in 2025) now under $400!

A pair of Polk Audio SDA 1- C speakers sit on a walkway with grass and trees behind. Their grilles have been removed exposing their array of drivers: 2x 1" tweeter, 4x 6.5" midrange, and 1x 12" sub-bass radiator per side, good for a frequency response of 15Hz - 26kHz at 6 Ohms. They weigh a hefty 85 pounds each! Coming in at 44"H x 16.5"W x 11.5”D they should up the sound level and quality in my wood shop (replacing another pair of Polks actually, but not SDAs (Stereo Dimensional Array) which send a bit of the left signal to the right speaker and vice-versa via a special 2-conductor cable).
