Recapping/Analyzing/Shooting the shit about 400+ issues and counting!
UNCANNY X-CERPTS
Updates Mondays... and now some Thursdays! Reflecting on the entire sordid, endearingly bizarre history of the Uncanny X-Men from the very beginning. Follow on Bluesky <a href="https://bsky.app/profil...

Apocalypse is still out there but who cares it's BASEBALL SEASON BABY! Batter up!

Also, what do several mutants do when nobody is looking?

All this plus a villain so shocking you'll think "What is this guy doing here?"

It's a story nobody asked for at UNCANNY X-CERPTS!

When I was in university taking Cinema Studies over ten years ago, we learned that vertical integration was bad and dismantled for very good reasons but in the time since they realized it's MONEY BAYBEE
It’s hard to not see the Netflix/WB news as a sort of doomsday scenario. The constant mergers and large scale absorptions of brands might be good for business, in theory, but they are bad for art; they are bad for creators; they are bad for preservation. Which makes it bad for us.

I put fiction on AO3, so I'm one of "those people" now.

With Apocalypse on the run and their leader gone, it's time for the X-Men to kick back with some baseball!

But will an unexpected player change the game?

What do you think, in this week's newest UNCANNY X-CERPTS!

When I was in grade school doodling my own superheroes, I thought everyone needed a flashing eye and a leather jacket like Nate "X-Man" Grey. I hardly ever even read comics with him in them!
When yall were kids (think like.. age 4-12) what was the coolest character design you had ever seen that was super formative?

This is cool!
A confused Mystique, I always like her with more pronounced features.

Apocalypse is d̵e̵f̵e̵a̵t̵e̵d̵ gone, which is close enough for a win!

What's next?

How about THE END OF ALL MUTANTKIND??!

Things go left real quick in this week's UNCANNY X-CERPTS!

Sydney Sweeney! Boxing picture!

I'm glad that when Chris Claremont returned to the X-Men after a near-decade absence, they didn't overhype it so that people would be let down in case he didn't prove to have the magic touch. Really great job managing expectations here.

It's definitely something no other superhero movie has given us!
The aesthetics and tone were fantastic. Sue giving birth on mission orbiting a neutron star is absolutely peak FF.

It's the "last" part of "First & Last" as Apocalypse tries once again to dupe the X-Men with a corny flash forward to their distant future!

It's an emotional farewell -- no, really, in the end it actually is -- in this week's UNCANNY X-CERPTS!

This has to just be a pic of Clint Eastwood though, right? (Not taking away from Mark Texiera, even the best do it.)
Trippy read and all that, but some real gorgeous art in this one.

I finally saw Fantastic Four: First Steps. I had mostly moderate feelings about it, but I did have one thought.

It feels like there is now more upside to setting a movie outside the "main" MCU than within

Worth noting that Fantomah is in the public domain, so you might as well drop her into whatever you're working on right now
Today is the birthday of writer & artist Fletcher Hanks (Dec. 1, 1889-Jan. 22, 1976). He was only active in the comic industry for three years but is remembered for his unique style & unusual creations such as Stardust the Super Wizard & Fantomah.
