people assume Mansour was born into wealth but that’s not it, the Let Them Eat Cake manner is engineer brain (Lara grew up well off in Brazil though)

i’fairness if you had incandescent bulbs they were higher quality and prettier than today’s jank (that’s why NOS bulbs go for $2 a pop)
but overall yeah, one of my classmates’ dads had a christmas tree farm and (((I))) didn’t realize until much later that only the rich people could get good ones

Every Christmas I think of economics’ measurement problem when it comes to quality. I grew up with trees that literally looked like this, and even the cheapest trees today are genetically modified to be greener, fuller and lose very few needles.

this is weird imo. why shouldn't a newsletter about a programming language operate 'at a loss'? mine doesn't take in any revenue at all, it only has ~1000 readers but I'm not gonna cut em off like that
