I wanted new placemats for the dinner table for Christmas but they all seem to come in packs of 4 and I needed 5. I had a rummage in the loft, dug out some suitable fabrics and made some. They’re far from perfect but they cost me nothing but time.
Five fabric placemats folded in half, last one on the right have the corner folded to show the green fabric underneath. Topside fabric is ivory with a green and red leaf print. They sit on a wooden table.

It is old, it already had paint on the inside, as you can see in one of the photos. The spalting in the wood is beautiful.

“Telling the Bees” wooden clog.
Hand burned onto the wood and colours hand painted. There is a small hole through the top on one side.
You can easily get size 9s in there, though I’d keep it as a show piece rather than a fashion statement 🤣

Today we went down to Southend for the poppies on the pier. Between me, my daughter @theartisticdragon.bsky.social and my mum, we contributed 100 poppies to this installation. It was a lovely, if very bracing, day out.
