I'd like to think that over time I've grown closer to the kind of person that kid-me needed. One day I'll wrap him up and be able to tell him, genuinely, that we worked it out. That folks understood they were wearing morals rather than living and expressing morals then started with fixing it. 9/9

Y'all, we are supposed to develope object permenance at 6-12 months. Believe it or not, preventing harm to people means a balance of having both spaces for people to grow until they can comphrehend and having spaces where people can engage with ideas and explore them, however that looks. 8/9

If I and my more-educated coworkers struggle to understand abuse and it's mechanisms as is, trust me when I say, statistically, I don't believe it when you say you do. It is easier and more accessible to not think about how we treat our youth than it is to discover what we fear and suspect. 6/9

Take it from someone whose job brings them into contact with many spicy personal events. It is an absolute scary truth that being a kid now more than ever means that most days your wishes and consents are dismissed and violated just in the context of school, no bad touch needed. 5/9

Currently, it has slowly seperated lewd from adult and elevated it as a talisman against corporate and political interests. Unfortunately, with little realisation that it slowly tempts us to let go of the rest. It's not really an immediate problem, but there is a bit more than when I started. 3/9

That story wouldn't fly in today's adult vs kids climate or attention economy at all. I know this is wild coming from this account but there is a dreadful gentle pressure from how we talk about and engage with ourselves. It shapes our expectations and spaces. 2/9

A friend recently gave me a copy of an old multi-chapter story that I read in high school and it reminded me that in my teens a lot of what I read gave me funny feelings AND helped me think about how powerless being a kid feels, what consent is, and what the adults think they were doing. 1/9

There’s been examinations of mental health, trauma, consent, what family means, queerness, incontinence and many other themes but unless it gets the community to feel like they goon without touching their genitals by having characters piss and shit themselves, it feels like no one cares about it

I didn't really want to get involved in recent discourse, but since people are now coming to my DMs to involve me indirectly anyway, I will say: I think it is evil and immoral to pedojacket queer people, even if they make art that makes me personally uncomfortable, and it's disappointing to see it.

Safe spaces are awesome but like, beware the trap of tokenism.

In an age where we're being encouraged to template even our hearts, being able to ask 'but why is it bad' and follow it until you are past 'because it is/they are' is very helpful for avoiding becoming a walking bundle of heuristics.

I turned 18 and thought "Now i can safely and comfortably interact with the spaces" but instead I get threats for not abandoning all the people I had prior to joining
