Samurai Cop. Penguin. Eagle of Fate.
My best viewing option today is a new Richard Linklater movie starring Ethan Hawke. That’s as good as my options are. Ugh.

Loving watching Walton Goggins doing press for Fallout absolutely baffled but deeply amused by his newly minted sex symbol status. That is a man who never thought he’d get asked once if the monster he plays would hook up with the woman half his age, let alone the main question he gets

I saw the argument that because a comic was a best seller the movie would be a hit. Do people remember what a middle tier performer at best Watchmen was and it’s one of the best selling comics ever?

We needed Badlands. It plays like people who really loved the tie-ins deciding to make as much of it canon as possible
There is something so interesting about getting to see a Dek, a member of a species that have repeatedly demonstrated their knack for underestimating their opponents over several films, actually learning to overcome that weakness & seeing that lone wolf mentality as being a weakness to begin with.

This dude learned this lesson.

“The swagger to sell the younger wife if not the soul to realize he shouldn’t have her” is a character description I’m proud of

Hear me out: Maybe this movie didn’t go hard enough on the revenge front. And it goes pretty hard.

If you know his history as a martial artist, you know why he’s getting this. Spawn is as legit as it can get.

I love that I’ll mock myself for finding a death in a comic upsetting when that death literally made one of the biggest dictionaries in English. Like I wasn’t triggered by a random comic. It reshaped ENGLISH.

An excellent counter argument. If someone makes a good case against a point I make I will ALWAYS elevate. Maybe a better approach is to say when a work is plot dependent know. But character work like a comedy be flexible.
I don’t think it’s a myth. I think it’s advisable. Game of Thrones, Lost and the recent Star Wars all showed how not knowing can be a real problem.

A sitcom also doesn’t necessarily have to work over a long arc.

How I Met Your Mother is a great example of why the myth of knowing your ending is a good thing is a myth. The show had that ending locked down. And it wasn’t what the show actually built to so suddenly swerving back to it destroyed it forever.

Hey look! An old school movie star comedy with a great hook.
Watch the trailer for John Patton Ford’s How to Make a Killing starring Glen Powell 👀

In theaters on February 20, 2026 via A24.

I saw people mocking that cover on Miles Teller from around the time Whiplash hit but everything I’m seeing on Eternity makes me glad he realized he’s actually better in romcoms and movies he can be light. He’s better at them than most right now.

“It’s like we’re in some Dogme 95 movie” is a better joke
when I'm in charge I will make it a crime to ever have a character in a horror movie do a "sounds like a bad horror movie" quip.

I love science fiction so much. This movie absolutely collapses trying to convince us of this, let alone she’s not way more charming and appealing than a certain vacuum at the center.
One of the big reasons I thought Wonder Woman 1984 was a wreck was that it spent the first half of the movie trying to convince me that every man on planet Earth considers Kristen Wiig to be either invisible or a vomit-inducing troglodyte before she becomes Cheetah.

And the whole time she's like:

Definitely still very depressed. Nothing is sparking. The Poirot novel is a stopgap. But I tried to watch a movie and got 5 minutes in and hated everything about it AND it reminded me of a script I am getting rid of everything it reminded me of

I’m picking up the Collective Soul piece but I think I’m going to build into it the frustration of loving art by a real bastard and tracking how I stopped listening to them. I mean I kept listening to Creed after Creed stopped being Creed!

Can't believe we finally got a novelisation to Witchboard. One of my favourite 80s horror movies. I love it so much I bought the hardcover and the mass market paperback. #Horror #novelisation #echoonpublications #Witchboard

The whole “the Muppets are real” bit we as a society have agreed on is the most wholesome joke we have.

FREEWAY!!! Now there’s a movie that cries out for a book. God Echo-On is killing.
To keep up the pace for 2026, we have enlisted the help of three awesome authors to help with our novelizations!

James Cameron used 3 hours to make a sweeping statement on class and how we fail to grasp the truth of history. 4h15 on a failed theme park idea seems a bit long
Basically pulled an @untitleduser.bsky.social when saying I don’t think a YouTube video should be an hour longer than Titanic

It is insane to me there is a perfect kid version of Marcus from About a Boy next to the actual actor who grew up to look not a thing like the character

The new Poirot novel by Sophie Hannah is phenomenal as usual. She’s more than worthy to pick up the reins from Christie and Catchpool is kind of a wonderful character himself. An extremely exhausted and annoyed foil to the perpetually amused Poirot.
