It's born of the same mentality that turned politics of queer liberation into the politics of gay rights; the language of acceptance and "tolerance" over that of meaningful change. Begging for a seat at the high table rather than asking why there was a table in the first place.
A true trans acceptance stems from understanding the stratification of society into gender-castes and repudiating the injustice of it.
Rhetoric that stresses "self-expression", as though the denial of our gender autonomy is a matter of individual expression, fails to address the root of our issue.

Yeah I think a lot of people who actually have lived most of their lives in relatively comfortable liberal bubbles don't realise that all the vile shit you see online used to be said in less public settings constantly.

I have, in fact, never wondered why Wikipedia wants so much money. It's one of the highest trafficked sites on the internet. The logistics of maintaining just the infrastructure must be very complicated. It also doesn't have ads.
