I don't know, Aaron. I think we need to take this seriously. In fact, after surveying hundreds of years of history in the past few days, I've written an article assessing the originalist case here:

Not sure there's a clearer way to say any security guarantees the US is offering Ukraine are toilet paper than to shutdown EUCOM while offering them.

Nvidia serves as the backbone to this 2K-word, palpably ambivalent WSJ story about Trump's "state capitalism."

But the story never tells the reader that China issued guidance to avoid the Nvidia chips after Trump approved the sale.

If I have brain cells left over from the 2nd book that almost killed me, the 3rd book about the memory of immigration in the US. Why does everyone know Ellis Island and few know Gadsden's Wharf and Angel Island? What about America's other gateway cities and what does it say about migration?
I was just in Charleston, SC to begin thinking about my 3rd book. Visited the International African American Museum which is built on Gadsden's Wharf, where between 1670 - 1808, where nearly 1K cargoes of enslaved Africans arrived. iaamuseum.org/about/

For people who haven't written books & wonder what it's like to close out a big book project after a decade, it's intense. The last few months, all you can think, eat, breathe, sleep, is that blasted manuscript. It consumes you. And you got the rest of your work and care duties. Congrats, Rachel.
Shout out to @jdmortenson.bsky.social and @jgienapp.bsky.social for some last-minute reads & encouragement!

And appreciate seeing @gauthamrao.bsky.social @unlawfulentries.bsky.social @johngmarks.com going through this process earlier this year—it helped get me to the finish line.

Biden brought American manufacturing back but Trump is strangling it once again
The US continues to lose manufacturing jobs—payrolls are down 81k over the last year, & another 5k jobs were lost in November

Transportation (especially auto manufacturing), wood & electronics/electrical manufacturing are the biggest losers, but few subsectors are doing well

Oh we see it. It’s the GOP not honoring their oaths but instead backing lunatic Nazis.

After friday’s EPSTEIN dump he will not resign. Nor will the party tell him to because they’d have to get past Miller and Vought.
