THE ACOLYTE update: finished. Loved it. Wildly relatable portrayal of three different religious cults, IMPECCABLE writing, all the tragic resonance of the best STAR WARS movies (ESB, ROTS, TLJ) without the unevenness that faults 2 out of the 3. Ought to have been the Movie 1 in a major trilogy.

⚠️ #RachelMaddow discusses several instances of #ICE agents' "unacceptable behavior" in the last week in places like #NewYork, #Chicago, and #Maryland, including one instance where an agent threw a crying mother to the ground in New York City.

It’s official: AIPAC is trying to buy my election to keep me out of Congress.

Apparently, I’m a “dangerous detractor”... by believing Palestinians (like myself and my family) deserve basic human rights.

But we’re not going to let AIPAC win.

ICE Nazis in Chicago tried to kidnap a food delivery worker but my man was too fast for those slow bastards
Palpatine’s Sith Master, Darth Antigony, regaled him with the story of how she killed Plagueis in his sleep. She let Sidious believe it was purely for power but really it was for revenge. Plagueis had taken Qimir from her, a slight she could never forgive. #acolyte

Acolyte is still my favorite SW show but it needed 40-50 min episodes that had arcs and more space for world-building.
The Acolyte felt like there was studio interference. Episodes would end in odd places. It was written like a 5 hr movie rather than a 7 ep season. People who binge the Acolyte today are getting a better viewing experience than those of us who watched week to week.

I was planning to drop SW once Andor wrapped up but they always manage to release something that appeals to me. Acolyte, Skeleton Crew, Visions.
I think I’ll just skip the Dave Filoni content, that’s the SW I don’t like. The fan service side of SW.
P1: Watching Rogue One feels strange after the Andor series finale. It feels like Cassian walked into a cartoon show, which isn’t bad but it’s jarring. But it’s also necessary to link Andor to ANH. Vader shows up to establish, “yes, magic exists.”

Star Wars Andor. She went in so thorough, the ISB thought they got hit by a rebel strike team.
The face of, “Mae never says, thank you. Imposter.” 😁
