pretty funny that my pursuit of voice acting is partly a response to my career in theatre, where my work is ephemeral and trapped in an unrepeatable time and place, only to have my single biggest voice role and my proudest achievement be for a game that was delisted and wiped from existence 🤷‍♂️

Absolutely not. This will be a bad video game.
But there’s no way I can resist the siren song of a final fantasy go especially one set in trendy urban spaces and if the roster gives me my under-appreciated favs.

TRON Ares is one of the most unsurprising, blatant pieces of corporate propaganda I've ever seen, and what started as a review turned into something of an essay on why the franchise meant so much to me, and why I'm not surprised.

Hot gamedev take, but I hate maps filled w markers and bullshit that ruins all the discovery. It puts the player on autopilot. Let me mark important stuff myself!!

The Assassin’s Creed series was a canary in the coal mine for our modern, engagement-obsessed world. @ckunzelman.bsky.social explains:

I don't associate SQEX with this level of reverance. I associate them with Dragon Quest remasters that fast-forward the Epic Journey and term that a value-add

Tbh if you make a co-op game that doesn't have local co-op you shouldn't be allowed to call it a co-op game. Thats live service

A peek at GAME FREAK (Yep, *that* Game Freak!) tips 'zine issue 22 from 1985 where the solution to arcade Time Gal is lovingly and painstakingly illustrated and written out scene-by scene. 💜
A scan of the photocopied zine with an illustration of protag Reikas sat coly with legs crossed and a marker pen held in one hand, with cheeky doodles drawn over the game's villain's face and a piece of paper. "Time Stop!" A snap of one of the pages, with painstakingly drawn recreations of hte various scenes of the QTE based animated footage gameplay with directional inputs for each of them. Another snap of inked illustrations of Reika in one scene and line artworks in the other. Directional inputs can be seen below. Time Gal! A sweet sketch headshot of Reika along with zine credits, date, and price (Y300)

As well as this, I feel quite strongly that the increased prominence in recent years of social media influencers who engage in nothing but ragebait content and harassment has proverbially sucked all the air out of the room, content mills producing bullshit at speed who dominate gaming conversations.

“Why isn’t anyone covering our indie games?”

1. The gaming press has been decimated by business suits, and the whims of an uncaring search engine behemoth
2. Doing the job means you get death threats and harassment
3. There are more games released in 1 week than there were in entire months in 2015

Thank you. I love this room so much and I’ve never seen anyone else appreciate it.

TFW you paid $1400 to see Beckett’s most famous work without knowing anything about it
One Star Review of Waiting for Godot on Broadway
I recently attended Waiting for Godot on Broadway and spent over $1,400 for two Row C seats (103 and 104). I'm a longtime admirer of Broadway productions and even hold a season pass for Shea's Performing Arts Theatre, so I came in with genuine enthusiasm and high expectations. Unfortunately, this show was unlike anything ! have ever experienced —and not in a good way.
What I encountered was not the artistry, music, or emotional storytelling I usually associate with Broadway, but instead what felt like an endless cycle of nonsensical conversation between characters who seemed trapped in their own madness. I tried-truly tried-to find meaning, symbolism, or even a thread of emotional resonance. I stayed through the first half hoping the second would offer clarity. But by intermission, it was clear: this was a waste of both time and money.
Keanu Reeves is an actor I respect greatly, but I cannot fathom why he would agree to participate in such a disjointed, inaccessible production. His talent was lost in a performance that defied reason rather than provoked insight.
To anyone considering attending: unless you are drawn to highly abstract, nearly incomprehensible theater, I strongly caution you against this show. For the average, educated, thoughtful theatergoer, it is far more frustrating than fulfilling. In my opinion, this was the single most disappointing Broadway experience I've ever had - an unfortunate waste of money and, more importantly, of time.

In Final Fantasy Tactics if a unit gains too much faith they leave your party to go find God. Have you ever wondered what would happen if you had Beast Tongue and got a monster unit to maximum faith? Of course you haven't. No one has.
