I’ve been reading all of these to my kids for the last year, except we’re accidentally reading them out of order because my kid played with them and put them back in the slip case wrong. It’s somehow even weirder.
My current source of outrage is everyone thinking Oz started in 1939.

Schwartz is talking about another movie to “expand the Oz franchise” like L.Frank Baum and subsequent writers Ruth Plumly Thompson, John R. Neill, Jack Snow, and Eloise Jarvis McGraw haven’t already written 40 books about Oz.

I am so happy to hear that they don’t do this anymore. It was such a gross practice.
If you are not in academia, you might not know this, but job interviews used to be held at conferences IN HOTEL ROOMS. Women candidates in a hotel room alone with often all-male committees. People sitting on beds! The horror stories I've heard.
I thing I sometimes thing about is that university departments were still doing job interviews in hotel rooms in the mid aughts

I knew from the second I heard that she didn’t use names that the prose was gonna be pretentious, insufferable trash.

Can we circle back to the part where the NY Times never disclosed that they have incriminating information on Donald Trump from sent by Epstein that's been sitting on their email servers for nearly a decade?
Stuff like this makes me wonder why there hasn't been any reporting about Trump having affairs during his presidencies

Today is a good day to remember, and to say, that the #MeToo movement was right, and was righteous, and has been vindicated over and over again. There was no overreach. There was no excess. There was no they-went-too-far.

So much work remains to be done.

It’s 54° and sunny. The frost has burned off the grass and the leaves are turning. Days like this were made for walking across a college campus with your headphones on and your Walkman in your pocket playing a mixtape some boy made for you, feeling free for the first time in your life.

Looking forward to learning all about how the right should move left to win elections tomorrow. They should maybe dye their hair pink, learn to love pronouns.

At this point, anyone—a university, a law firm, a corporation, a Democrat—bending the knee to Trump is doing it because they want to, not because of any political reality.

I took a several-year break from watching baseball and started again this postseason, and the quality of hair care and dental whitening has improved considerably of late.

Kinda wish someone would tell my kids' gym teacher that the clichés about gym teachers being fascists don't actually have to be true for every gym teacher, every time. Apparently we call parents when a kid is skipping instead of walking, when he's been instructed to walk. In gym class! Holy moly.

democrats of all stripes should be rallying around kat abughazaleh asap. it doesnt matter where you stand ideologically. trying to jail dissenters is fundamentally unamerican and 100% fascist. democratic leaders at all levels should be making noise about it. you dont need a poll or focus group.

This is SUCH a concise and useful description of the problem.
2) Republicans use polls to shape strategy, not to shape their positions.

Public opinion is malleable. Most people don't have firm opinions. Republicans shape the river. Democrats chase the currents--and it hasn't worked.
