When this @DeptofWar says we have the back of our warriors-we mean we stab them in it.
“Let’s make one thing crystal clear: this is all that guy’s fault. Not mine. When I talk about ‘kinetic strikes’ and ‘lethality’ and ‘warfighting’, I stand by him and the combat decisions he has made—by which I mean I sit at home and shout at people while drunk.”

To put a finer point on this whole thing: "Two people with direct knowledge of the operation" — presumably uniformed military leaders — are accusing the U.S. Secretary of Defense of personally ordering specific war crimes. That's a historic accusation.
Textbook war crime/extrajudicial killing

"Two survivors were clinging to the smoldering wreck. The Special Operations commander overseeing the Sept. 2 attack ... ordered a second strike to comply with Hegseth’s instructions."

“Ah, just one more thing, sir. You’re blowing up those boats, saying they’re filled with drugs headed for the US. But then you go and pardon the guy who brought in 400 tons of cocaine. That’s billions of doses. Help me understand that.”

"Contrary to Miller and Trump, Lakanwal’s shooting spree is not the result of importing Afghan culture to America. While much will surely be revealed in Lakanwal’s upcoming trial, it looks more like the result of importing American culture to Afghanistan." New from me @zeteo.com

After the National Guard shooting, the US needs to reckon with how its legacy of global violence inevitably comes home. Stephen Miller wants to do anything but.

Since Stephen Miller is in the midst of another of his Aryans-only trantrums, we should note that his family are 20th century immigrants from the shtetl of Antopol (Антопаль) then in the Hrodna gubernia of Russia. Applying his immigration rules, they would all have perished in the Holocaust.
Stephen Miller Is an Immigration Hypocrite. I Know Because I’m His Uncle.
If my nephew’s ideas on immigration had been in force a century ago, our family would have been wiped out.

The guy shot two random people with a gun, I don't think you can say he wasn't assimilating into our culture
Stephen Miller is now arguing that assimilation is fundamentally impossible and that certain cultures are not compatible with Western civilization

Mr. Secretary, you seem confused. Mark Kelly was defending the Constitution. That’s leadership and you should try it.

This is an insurrection…

Mark Kelly: "My wife, Gabby Giffords, meeting with her constituents, shot in the head. Six people killed around her, a horrific thing. She spent six months in the hospital. We know what political violence is and we know what causes it too, The statements that Donald Trump made incites others."

I cannot imagine what could possibly go wrong in trying to court-martial an astronaut and pilot decorated multiple times for valor and exceptional service, who is also a sitting senator, for correctly making the point that service members are obliged not to follow unlawful orders
Hegseth is now threatening to recall Sen. Mark Kelly to active duty in order to court martial him.

People from poor countries in remote parts of the world shouldn't be in America picking strawberries. They should be back at home, running MAGA Twitter accounts.
November 24, 2025 at 6:03 PM
If you’re a journalist who’s still on Twitter, from now on in your writing you have to replace “the American people want” with “troll bots in Eastern Europe demand”

Being there makes your judgment suspect. I don’t care how savvy you think you are, you’re marinating in a disinformation campaign.

That John Roberts was more concerned with nuisance lawsuits against the president than he was with whatever this is will haunt this country for a long time
Trump posts again about Democrats, saying their behavior is “punishable by DEATH!”

Mother Jones has been on fire on the John Roberts beat and, man, I'd love to see our national press pick up this ball.

A gunman tried to silence my wife in an extreme act of political violence.

Now, Trump has called for my execution because he didn’t like what I had to say.

Gabby and I know, when others try to silence you, you must keep speaking out — and that’s exactly what we’re going to do.

This is extremely dangerous.

From the attempts on his own life to the murders of Speaker Hortman & Charlie Kirk, this isn’t hard. You either condemn all of it or none of it.

I don’t want to hear a single word about political violence from Republicans until they condemn this language.

The President of the United States just called for Democratic members of Congress to be executed. "HANG THEM", he posted.

If you're a person of influence in this country and you haven't picked a side, maybe now would be the time to pick a fucking side.

Let’s talk about sedition and treason, because the most powerful yet inadequate man in the world is having a tantrum about it, and his soulless, spineless sycophants are boosting his message.

I absolutely want the right to shop hospitals and doctors for my emergency appendectomy. I do my best haggling while dying.
President Deals wants you to negotiate directly with health insurers over your monthly premium. Or to haggle with your doctor over the cost of your appointment. Or both, it's not really clear.

(Nobody has ever asked for this)

The Supreme Court made up the "major questions doctrine," under which the Court gets extra powers when things are a Big Deal and what's a Big Deal is up to the Justices.

Why not make up a new "signature policies" rule where a president can put things beyond the court's reach, like a franchise tag.
Bessent on tariffs: "This is one of President Trump's signature policies, and traditionally the Supreme Court does not interfere with a president's signature policy."
