I used to post long #VisualAlgebra threads on #MathTwitter before realizing that I was actually in #TheBadPlace. I'm going to make my debut #MathSky thread today, with visuals that I've never publicly shared. (Can you guess the topic?) I'm excited to show you, and I hope you enjoy!

I’d like to know how they plan to hold them accountable when they’re all just going to get blanket pardons on their way out. Otherwise it’s just a statement that his intern got from ChatGPT.

What’s the word where you’re from that, when pronounced exactly as it looks, identifies a tourist immediately?

I heard it from one of our recent university provost candidates in his interview. He was quoting someone, but I didn’t remember who.

I heard someone recently say: “AI won’t take your job. Someone proficient with AI will take your job.” I think that might be the most accurate prediction.

Clemson has been designated a National Monarch Butterfly City, and there is a public art installation of 20 fiberglass butterflies all around town.

Look closely, one of them appears to have some hidden mathematics on its underside! #IllustratingMath #Mathober

From the QR code:

“…textile art to represent both our home in the Blue Ridge foothills and the end point of the monarch's sojourn in Central Mexico. The left wing is inspired by the Tenango,
the traditional embroidery work of the Otomi people. The right wing shows a Cherokee seven point star quilt pattern, representing southern Appalachia's rich quilting history, as well as the indigenous influences upon the art form. In both cultures, such large and detailed textiles often involve family or community members working on a single piece together, making them symbols of
cooperation and unity.” Public art installation from the Butterfly Project in Clemson, SC Public art installation from the Butterfly Project in Clemson, SC, with the butterfly lemma hidden on its underside!
