Have you ever taken an edible and then had a serious pondering over whether a green bean was, in fact, a bean? Shut up.😂

Pyres is the searing inferno of a book people need to keep warm as the cold weather draws in.

Come for the grotesque art made manifest, stay for the right wing scumbags being incinerated 🔥🔥

It’s #FridayReads time! Books make great gifts and are tastier than turkey. Repost this and let us know what to repost for you. Here’s a (45% off!) novel full of monsters, friendship, love, magic, revenge, ghosts, storms, syncretism, and maybe a bit of violence…

No, George Washington would be disgusted by you, Trump. He warned, "cunning, ambitious, and unprincipled men will be enabled to subvert the power of the people and to usurp for themselves the reins of government.”
He warned us long ago. And he would've been appalled by Trump. Don't use

"Quiet Piggy," said the biggest pig of all. And all those who root around in the mud with him and continue to defend him. Fuck you.

I feel like, if some of my stories were written by men, they'd be received differently, but because I'm a woman writing violent stuff, I feel judged. I don't write fantasy, I write horror, and translate real life shit into fiction. Not every story will be tied with neat little bow. It's. Horror.

The Five Turns of the Wheel, the first of my Five Turns universe books has very decided patriarchal views which control & destroy the women, until they fight back, with a little help from Mother Nature.

The first horror novel I wrote entirely from a man's POV was DEEP DOWN, a creature feature about a man and his dog entering a cave during the end of the world.

Dark forests. Black birds. Old rituals. Haunted boys.
Some stories will not rest.

I have a gothic horror novella set in 1926, in which 9-yr-old Rosalyn plays a make-believe game of a Royal Court with 4 other girls. All of them want to (need to) be Queen... Things escalate. Significantly.🍀🔨👑

The monsters of course--be it women, other humans they've wronged, actual monsters, or their demons coming back to bite them. I want to stress that some women in my horror don't get out alive because let's face it, we don't always. It reveals we're all flawed and shit when we die.

It depends. I write a lot of what I've known, which are narrow-minded masculine types who think their shit doesn't stink. I def weaponize it, where the woman wins--or doesn't because many times--we don't. When it mattered? It always matters, each revenge is cathartic, every one.

Q3. I'm doing what I can to answer everyone, and repost, so bear with me. So I don't keep you waiting, I'll throw out 3. Interpret this one how you like. I know many queer folks like me do not align masculinity with man shaped. And with horror, we love to subvert our tales.
