🧵Don't know how to sew? Now you do!🪡

This tutorial is included in the pay what you can (min $0) patterns! I handsew all of my work because it gives me the ability to get the precision in small spaces I need to get the shapes you all know and love 🐾

Hope it helps someone out!

Shares appreciated 💫

One of the biggest things to me in appeal in a drawing is the contrast between straight and curved in form. It’s not universal for every type of drawing, but for me personally it’s important and often when I see a drawing that feels mushy, it’s lacking this. This diagram is by Stephen E. Gordon (?)

The stupidest thing about learning color theory is that each color has a completely arbitrary perceptual value. It's not a smooth gradient. So for some purposes, you're forced to use certain colors if you want a specific effect.

Art tip I posted 10 days early on Boosty (link in bio)
I don’t plan posting tips yet to come here or anywhere else besides Boosty. I’m not an expert of any kind, but I will be happy if it will help anyone/if someone tries it out.

I've been talking a lot about shading studies that I have been doing, but I haven't talked much about the process. Eventually, I will actually break it down tutorial style. Helping people learn will hopefully stop them destroying the community with AI. Here is how my values look.

GenAI has polluted image search results, especially for animal pics. It’s now basically impossible to find accurate art references.

Enter this: a repository of open-access, AI-free images of wild & exotic taxa. Artists creating *without AI* have blanket permission for derivative/transformative use.

This very cool figure drawing website was put out there by @swirlingskirts.bsky.social, who also runs @rprepository.bsky.social
Kim's been bringing us cool stuff for a long time. Please give her a holler.
I like this site.
Line-of-action is a free figure drawing tool. You can choose what type of model and timer you prefer.
It's a nice way to put in fifteen minutes of learning.

I saw this style of d666 table on a blog somewhere and never saw it again, but it's one I'd like to mention as a helpful tool I've used in the past for developing scenarios in my hexcrawl. It's a bit more vague than creating a A->B adventure but it's good at coming up with some connections
