Really great end-of-year list from the talented and marvellous @krzyzis.bsky.social.
Here's my best of 2025 list, the playlist embed from mixcloud is wonky so might be best to just open a new tab if you wanna do that, though I would just open the album links cause my playlisting ain't crap compared to the actual albums.

The Fujita performance at The Orange Show was in one of the warehouses & extremely cold - an observation, not a complaint. I hoped for a fire barrel, but no such luck

There WAS a fire barrel at the coldest show I ever attended - almost precisely 35 years ago last night. I still think about it A LOT

Last one for the night, this is one of Monolake’s finest releases. Cinematic, moody, and atmospheric, with superb sonics. #CDFriday

The economics of self-releasing music as physical media, a thread.
My first self-released CD is SEA OTTERS by The Bionics, an album of Not-Quite-Techno made in a very analogue way, and on our Bandcamp page along with 17 back catalogue treats.

🙏 @vmdtm.bsky.social ! This is Lullaby, a song I wrote some yrs ago as we all sensed some tide or other starting to turn. A reminder that light always returns (in flames if necessary) and that after every almighty mess, a clear-up comes. Handy enough to remember eh!

"When I worked for Buchla, we didn’t use the word “synthesizer.” It was too much of a defined term. It’s shorthand for saying an instrument makes something electronically. But in my brain, the analog modular is completely separate from a keyboard-focused instrument."
