Rather than banning Palestinians in Gaza desperately trying to survive @moderation.bsky.app should be labelling these mass-follow engagement hacking accounts as SPAM and banning them

I swear a solid third of my followers are these fuckers and other worthless blue-MAGA meme accounts

Here's a thread on #DnD, game design, and balance. It comes from my experience working on a homebrew for #5r (that is, 2024 #5e) to make recovery slower.

Since the dawn of DnD, there's been an issue with "martial/caster balance" or (in older parlance) "linear fighters, quadratic wizards".
Campaign Pace (
These rules slow down recovery and make it less “all or nothing”. That means that, for instance, resources spent in a single-encounter travel day can still matter the next day when you arrive. They al...

Listen: maybe I'm wrong and this is just the worst software deployment of my career, not actually a conspiracy against democracy.

Maybe these guys just don't see they are frittering away all product and service design knowledge in the agency. And don't even know that they lack this knowledge.

"I don't agree with @aoc.bsky.social about everything. But we do agree about 3 important things.
1. Trump and Musk's Republicans are trying to make your life worse.
2. We Democrats are trying to make it better.
3. It's time to stand together and fight."

if, ten years ago, your entire understanding of politics was that the right wing wanted to destroy everything because they were evil, you had a more accurate and more predictive analysis than functionally the entire American media and political apparatus

I’ve long used FiveThirtyEight’s interactive “Hack Your Way To Scientific Glory” to illustrate the idea of p-hacking when I teach statistics. But ABC/Disney killed the site earlier this month :(

So I made my own with #rstats and Observable and #QuartoPub ! stats.andrewheiss.com/hack-your-way/

It hasn't been lost on me that anti-war activists are still protesting the Gaza War just as actively since Trump's election but the mainstream media has stopped giving their protests attention now that it hurts Trump instead of Biden.
Seems like has been very little coverage of protests happening in the U.S.--not necessarily an intentional media blackout (although possibly), but the result of a longstanding stance in legacy media that protests aren't worth covering, activists aren't credible sources (but somehow CEOs are), etc.

I think the nation's future hinges on DC statehood.

But I _know_ that justice demands it.
DC statehood must be at the core of the Reconstruction Democrat program.
From many different angles Washington DC is emerging as a free fire zone for right wing violence precisely because it's not a state

I sincerely think that universities should suspend their productivity standards for scientists and ask them instead to hold town halls in schools, public libraries, museums, shopping malls, and anywhere else and communicate what is being lost with the collapse of the research ecosystem.
“The ecosystem of research and the creation of new knowledge in universities has been so powerful for American prosperity, American freedom, American ingenuity. To have that disrupted by government overreach is a disaster for this country.” —Wesleyan University President Michael Roth on
