The irony of this win is that now we need Purdue to start playing well again if we wanna get into March Madness because it's our only Quad 1 victory so far this season.

Fun fact for IU fans who are learning that their football school also has a basketball team: A "field goal" can be either 2 or 3 points in this sport!

Official comment on this:

“Lmao”
A stunner from @dvnjr.bsky.social and me: Bill Belichick is not a first ballot Hall of Famer. He didn't get elected this year. The 8-time champion failed to 40 out of the 50 votes required for induction.

The list of CFP rule changes and stipulations is going to be longer than that "Browns quarterbacks since 1999" jersey that goes viral every year.
NEW: In a previously unreported College Football Playoff change, the Group of 6 spot in 2026 does NOT have to be a conference champion.

It's just the highest-ranked G6 team, a change some G6 leaders didn't even realize until recently.

Quietly, the College Football Playoff’s Group of 6 rep no longer needs to be a conference champ
The idea that the G6 spot could go to a non-champion has been previously unreported and, in some cases, even forgotten by CFP leaders.

Rewatched Fast Times at Ridgemont High last night, still a classic of course but it's wild that the concept of "Parents" just did not exist, not even as comic foil in so many 1980s teen movies.

It is crazy how every Bills fan on here basically called this happening when McDermott was fired a week ago - "yeah they're keeping the GM and promoting Joe Brady" - and the Bills did exactly that.

I don't think this is enough either but it's a clear sign the pressure is getting to these Dems since most have been more than happy to do nothing about it over the past year. Can't stop now.
Dems coalescing around 5 restrictions on ICE, I'm told:

DHS required to cooperate with state probes (big)
CBP stays at border
warrants for arrests
IDs, bodycams
ICE out of churches, schools

"That package unites a lot of Dems," Sen Chris Murphy tells me on the pod:

A Dem Senator’s Harsh Takedown of Trump Hits Home: “Breaking Point”
As Trump scrambles to contain the damage from the latest ICE horrors, Senator Chris Murphy offers a sharp indictment of Trump-ICE lawlessness—and explains how Dems can meet the urgency of the moment.

I'm sure I'm missing several but I just wanna thank Twin Cities folks like @normcharlatan.bsky.social, @drewhamm5.bsky.social, and @stellagarp.bsky.social for their efforts and for documenting what's been going on over the past month. You all rock. Drinks on me next time I'm in Minnesota.

4th quarter was the most watchable part of that game
Everyone hates the idea of neutral-site conference championship games. Until the fourth quarter of Patriots-Broncos, which was unplayable -- and unwatchable.
Should conference championships be played at neutral sites?
Patriots-Broncos snowstorm could dust off an old debate.

Great article and I really think spreading it across 3 networks - with the emphasis that the best game has to be at 12 noon after the doofus off-brand kickoff show - has been terrible for the conference.
Good morning

The Big Ten has won three straight national titles, but the SEC is kicking its ass in TV ratings.

Why is this happening, and more importantly, should you care?

AN EXTRA POINTS INVESTIGATION:

Should you care about a Big Ten/SEC TV ratings war?
One conference is winning championships. The other is winning TV viewers. Does it matter? And for whom?

I guess after growing up during the Iraq War and seeing none of those people get punished for this (and get welcomed back into society!) I'm skeptical there will be any consequences for these ICE thugs. Kristi Noem will be laughing with Bill Maher about woke college students 5 years from now.

Time for two weeks of me talking about my favorite lowkey conspiracy theory, that the Seahawks threw on 2nd down in Super Bowl XLIX because they didn't want Marshawn to be the hero.

Game would be tied right now if they had gone for two and converted at least once. Sean McVay is a millennial did he never play Madden?
They did it again - feel like down 11 in the second half should be an automatic go for 2 situation.
Rams should've gone for 2 there but I also have video game football brain when it comes to chasing points.

They're calling this game "The Real Super Bowl."

Insanely good play design here. Every time I think the Rams are in trouble McVay dials up a gem like this.
Kyren Williams cuts through the line, Stafford hits him for a TD
