Quit Big Tech in 2026?

It's kind of like trying to give up smoking but if we were still living in the time when doctors were prescribing cigarettes to pregnant mothers and you needed cigarettes to chat to your racist uncle.

I’m sharing this video again because people don’t really get what these data centers and ai are doing to our planet and our communities. Especially Black communities because they were strategically placed there.

I need you to listen to these people.

Time to end AUKUS, remove US bases and chart an independent, principled and safe defence and foreign policy for Australia. Cringing in fear under the tattered US umbrella while it’s being used to beat up US allies is no longer a credible plan.

May our cultural and arts institutions develop an ounce of the courage shown by writers like Abdel-Fattah.

This was a direct contributing factor to why I cancelled my Spotify.

Can you imagine if you had to serve 1000 fries before McDonalds paid you? Except that if had to grow the potatoes and get them into 'fry' form first.
In April 2024, Spotify implemented a new scheme: songs with less than 1k streams per year would no longer receive royalties.

The data for 2025 was just released via Luminate, and 88% of songs have been demonetized.

Read it again: 88% of songs on Spotify have been demonetized.

The last bastion of the true intent of the internet.
Twenty-five years ago, Wikipedia was an unlikely idea: a place where anyone could share free knowledge.

Today, it’s one of the most visited sites on Earth, not powered by corporate ads, but by people.

Seeing this interview is such a stark reminder that the signs of the medias collapse around authoritarianism was apparent even in 2018.

The fact Waleed Aly is basically a right wing shill at this stage is an indictment on the obvious trajectory of the media from then to now.
"...everything i feared in 2010 about authoritarianism, the rise of nationalist movements across the world, the sprawling and more entrenched police and intelligence and military apparatus all over the world ... towards full blown genocide and ethnic cleansing in the US" - chelsea manning, 2018
