"After federal immigration officers in Charlotte saw a man taking photos of them, they chased him nearly 2 miles down a main road and made plans to “smash” into him, video played in court Thursday showed. They broke his window, charged him with a federal felony and accused him of assaulting them."

On Friday, November 28 (Black Friday), from 8:00 AM to 7:00 PM, Rush Bowls in Beaverton will donate 20% of every purchase when customers mention the scholarship fund at checkout. Location: Rush Bowls - 14925 SW Barrows Rd #107, Beaverton, OR 97007 This event is important for two reasons: 1. Supporting a local business that needs the community behind it. Adebola, the owner of Rush Bowls, recently had to close the Hillsboro location, a reminder of how fragile small business ownership can be. This fundraiser gives our community the chance to help ensure this remaining location continues to thrive during the busiest shopping weekend of the year. 2. Helping us reach our goal of awarding two scholarships in 2026. We are close to funding two awards for graduating seniors next year. Every smoothie bowl, every treat, and every visit on Black Friday gets us one step closer to opening doors for students whose potential deserves to be nurtured and supported.

My version of a Joe Shuster-style Superman drawing. He’s in a wide stance with his arms wide and flexed as chains around his arms, chest, and ankles shatter. He has a slightly amused look on his face. The color palette is almost inverted with maroon for the blue, and tall for the red. And instead of an S in the shield on his chest it’s an M. But not really an M. It’s a symbol that means ‘Maybe it will happen today’. Over his head in signature zooming 3D type it says ‘Maybe it will happen today’.

We admire the way the RCAF handled nasty questions about the Transgender Day of Remembrance. Simple, straight forward, compassionate.

Response from ©Royal Canadian Air Force: "Well now, that's a pretty big question asked in a pretty small way, Andy. “Transgender” describes someone whose gender — who they know themselves to be — doesn't match the sex they were assigned at birth. It's not new, and it's certainly not a fad. People have lived this experience for as long as people have existed; we're just finally talking about it openly. You don't have to fully understand it right away, most learning takes time, but we can always start from a place of respect. That's how decent folks handle things they're still getting used to."
