thus far Trump's klatch of elder-abusers has ably distracted him/the press from the Epstein files--in a sane country the nakedness of the WH's bid to regain MAGA loyalty (still a couple reichstags short of a fire) would be frontpage news. i suppose we're another sort of country

the national media has a terrible shared belief: Democrats “aren’t the sort of people who do this sort of thing” and Republicans are, so it’s scandal when Democrats do it and it’s not even worth talking about when Republicans do it
