Clean, elegant, human design. I ain't no expert but there's something timeless and beautiful about that.

What is uniquely from the state where you grew up? See if we can guess the state based on what you say.

I'll go first. Petoskey stones.

and the shame continues to this anniversary day
U.S. House Speaker Mike Johnson really is incapable of running any aspect of government

He put out a statement blaming Democrats (somehow) and saying he cannot put up the plaque honoring Jan 6th defenders of the Capitol building…

because reasons

Can we flood _every_ GOP phone,

especially Mike’s?
A Jan. 6 plaque was made to honor law enforcement at the Capitol. Its whereabouts are unknown
Some 100 members of Congress, mostly Democrats, have mounted poster board-style replicas of the Jan. 6 plaque outside their office doors.

I for one am not in support of the series adding 2-3 new characters every movie. Pretty soon the Toy Story universe is just gonna be "now, who were you again?"
January 5, 2026 at 5:09 PM
Wear and tear does not seem to be a thing in the Toy Story universe. Forky would have lasted 5 minutes in real life.
January 5, 2026 at 5:03 PM
So there's going to a be a Toy Story 5. This time, there won't even be a movie. It'll just be a 93 minute chase scene and then closing credits.

Warehouse was a Southern California thing, right? (I don't recall seeing it anywhere else). Also famously the site of where Depeche Mode signed records right before their Rose Bowl concert and caused a riot.

Oh shoot, did it have an awkwardly fused name like Personics?

How do i make time for the last season of Stranger Things while I am still busy rewatching all of Rob Reiner and Diane Keaton's movies?
January 4, 2026 at 12:21 AM
Hey kids, did you know record stores used to make mixtapes (aka playlists on cassettes) FOR YOU? (Who remembers Personics from Tower Records?)

I once chatted in line while waiting for a hamburger with Laurence Fishburne. Nice man.
Right folks. Feeling rather down at the moment so bringing back an oldie

Great news. And take a deep breath please before you start in with "there are no bookstores anymore"
Some good news:
“This year, 422 newly opened stores joined the American Booksellers Association — nearly a hundred more than joined last year.”

There's actually (somewhere) an interesting story to be told about John Madden and I am positive David O. Russell will neither find it nor even go looking for it.
December 28, 2025 at 8:19 PM
That's definitely one very accurate way of putting it. I'd add that his latter movies (Say post 3 Kings) seem to be way more about the fact he made it than the movie itself saying anything.

Nicholas Cage playing John Madden in a biopic directed by David O. Russell is a three strike "no" for me. I need another "here's my meaning-free biopic take on a celebrity I think is more important than they actually are" like I need a hole in the head.
