I’m old enough to remember when Mitt Romney said the problem was that 47% of America didn’t pay taxes and wanted to be freeloaders. But I welcome him to the resistance.
Mitt Romney is in the New York Times saying we should tax the rich.

Since becoming a parent, it is now glaringly obvious which people with Takes About Parenting are not parents themselves. It's like getting They Live glasses that reveal which people need to shut the fuck up.

“If you were thirty in 2014, you hit the wall.” Or, hear me out, the recession depressed the job prospects of all persons in their 20s during the late 2000s and boomers worked to a later age resulting in less room for advancement, and none of that had to do with a push for greater diversity?

Rob Reiner either made your favorite movie, or made somebody you know’s favorite movie. If you’re a Californian, he’s also part of the reason you or your friends can get married. He has changed more lives for the better than this asshole commenting on him ever did.

Taking a break from the sickening tragedy to focus on the beauty for a moment. Rob Reiner achieved something so rare and coveted that artists and entertainers dream of and rarely achieve: cultural permanence. How many times have you made a reference to something going to 11? Shouted "Inconceivable"?

This, for the love of all that is holy

Compliant and credulous media will be the death of the republic
There's no rule of journalism that says you have to show a president telling lie after lie – uncorrected – many times a day. That's a decision that corporate media are making for purposes other than delivering the truth to the public.

as someone who’s been to both small-town Italy and small-town Iowa; I’m taking Italy 100% of the time.
If you want to do something like this, why not buy a $150k home in a small town in Italy, France, Spain, or Mexico, instead of having nine people share one bathroom after they eat at a restaurant called "Stinky's?"

Voters wrongly blame our gov. for inflation but largely take personal responsibility for their wages...when it should really be the opposite.

If typical workers' pay had kept pace with productivity over the last 45 yrs, our paychecks would be ~40% larger today.
Opinion | Everyone is talking about affordability – and making the same mistake
"As lawmakers grapple with the cost of living, they need to remind Americans – again and again – that pay is a policy choice," Heidi Shierholz writes.

The left should be promoting working-class solidarity, not delighting in seeing workers summarily dismissed.

Worth pointing out here that the original image was a publicity stunt & put everyone involved in it in great danger. Also worth pointing out that it depicts construction workers, not their bosses, & is a celebration of the hard work & incredible achievements of *human hands.*

Presidential power is the power to persuade, and Donald Trump appears unable to persuade anyone to do anything.
