Someone once threw some herbs in my eyes. It didn't blind me but I'm now parsley sighted.

Glen and his mum have aniridia and live together.
This is the 1st or 3 deeply touching posts about the impact on both of them of her further sight loss and declining mental health.
This week I'm opening up about what's been going on lately, as my blind, elderly mother is struggling with her declining health, and as her carer I'm finding it hard to cope as well. So this first post is about her physical health, including falls and sleep issues.

Caring For Mum – Part 1 – Physical Health
I’m an unpaid carer for my mother and lately we’ve been struggling to cope. We need help. It sounds like I’m introducing myself at some kind of group therapy session. But then thi…

☀️ Welcome to our Summer series.

Parliament might be in recess, but unpaid carers aren't. Our voices don’t stop just because parliament does.

Over next few weeks, we’ll be sharing stories, wins, & ways you can take action.
Carers are still visible, even when politics slows down.

Good spot, I hadn’t noticed that! You’re right - having just remembered to check my Blu-ray, it has the same error. Not a deal breaker for the episode considering I didn’t notice, but still a clumsy oversight by whoever put ut together.
Hi Andrew, glad you enjoyed them, thank you so much! 😀 The extras for Series 1-3 are standard def, but for Miracle Day they're HD.

It also doesn’t work. Suspending MPs over the two child limit didn’t stop them rebelling over disability benefits. Loads more followed! The way to ease rebellion is by communicating with backbenchers, not punishing them like errant children. Starmer really is both immoral and inept.

Suspending MPs is an important way to keep discipline but it has to be used very sparingly and in the right circumstances. Removing the Labour name from an MP because they didn’t want to impoverish children or disabled people is a truly ludicrous - and telling - method of running the party.

Another petty counterproductive move from Starmer. Punishing MPs who stood against a widely unpopular policy won’t endear him to the public or improve discipline in the party. It just makes him look like he hasn’t learnt a thing - morally or practically - from the disability cuts. Because he hasn’t.
Happy 40th anniversary to #LiveAid, arguably the greatest day in the history of rock and pop music. Here's my deep dive into the concert that I wrote last year, updated to include some of this year's celebrations:

Live Aid Review
Updated in July 2025 to include the 40th anniversary broadcasts. July 13, 1985, was arguably the greatest day in music history. As if anyone needs reminding, the extraordinary Live Aid concert was …

Tonight’s huge climbdown is testament to the countless disabled people who have tirelessly fought these cuts. Yes, UC was a loss and there’s more to do on PIP, but let’s not underplay this: a government with a vast majority has been forced to u-turn. Because of the disabled community.

“The removal of an entire clause of the bill means there will be no immediate changes to Pip. The Timms review will be “co-produced” with disabled people, leaving open the possibility that they will never happen,” reports @pippacrerar.bsky.social www.theguardian.com/politics/202...

Pundits are framing the welfare bill chaos as Downing Street’s failure to communicate the moral case for cuts - but there is no moral case. That’s the problem. These plans are staggering assaults on support that won’t help disabled people into work. No one can sell that.
