Pouring one out for Drew Struzan.
Here are his sexy George Lucas paintings.
Drew Struzan painting of a young George Lucas, with perfectly coiffed hair, holding a camera over his shoulder. He is surrounded by Star Wars characters. Drew Struzan painting of a distinguished George Lucas, flanked by Darth Vader, Luke Skywalker, and Indiana Jones.

No one ever came close to capturing a blockbuster's aura of magic and adventure the way Struzan did. An icon unto himself. RIP.

Todd is such a great ambassador for Visual Effects and the below-the-line community in general. The glee for the craft of filmmaking he wears on his sleeve is emblematic of the wonderful people I get to work with every day. 🎬❤️

Vanity Fair asked me to talk about visual effects, and it was my great honor to show off some of ILM’s terrific work over the years.

You *did* vote present on the Charlie Kirk resolution, so now I have to assume the glorification of his "work" wasn't offensive enough to you to vote nay. That is to say: you do not represent me and I will not support a weak, gerontocratic coward like you in the '26 midterms.

I've been working on something fun behind the scenes...

This HIGHER MAGIC audio cut scene is an exclusive preorder incentive. It stars 3 of the amazing voice actors I worked with on @hauntnowpod.bsky.social. 🧵

Really want a closer look at the Eterna, because if anything is gonna move me off it’s Fuji’s color science.

I looooove my Fuji cameras so I’m highly intrigued. That and the Raptor XE have me wondering if it’s time to move on from the Gemini.

okay there are too many new cameras being announced wtf

A visual history of the awesomeness of the matte painting.

For 120 years of filmmaking, sets and extras have been faked in post instead of being filmed practically, for logistics, schedule and budget purposes.

Matte painters are still on the credits of modern films. Talent remains, tools change.

I was a self-driving skeptic for a long time because I associated it with Tesla's scammy and illegal approach to the tech, but now I'm a convert. Biking and walking around San Francisco, I find sharing the streets with Waymos to be *much* safer than sharing them with many human drivers.

100 years from now when transportation is fully autonomous, people aren’t gonna believe we used to drive ourselves around

“So people just had to get really good at driving so no one died in crashes?”

“Oh, people died all the time. There were actually more car deaths than murders every year.”
News: Sen. Josh Hawley is serious about banning self-driving cars, tells me he's planning legislation on this soon.
"I think we ought to ban autonomous vehicles," he told me, calling them "not safe" and saying it would be "terrible for working people" if they become the norm.

Yea, none of those make sense either, do they?

If anyone in the Bay Area is interested / knows of someone who might be interested in adopting a young, sweet, social cat abandoned on the street by his former family, let me know! He's been neutered and is being fostered by us until we can find the indoor-only home of his dreams. ❤️
