This will likely eventually expand to include anyone who disagrees with the regime, as Vance and other prominent conservatives have endorsed a propaganda book that dehumanizes dissenters. Every time a Republican is accused of breaking the law, they appoint a Republican special counsel because of the fear a Democrat would have an axe to grind, but then if a Democrat is accused, they appoint a Republican to avoid the appearance of going to easy on the person being investigated.
