Make no mistake, the cessation of indiscriminate bombing of Gaza and other parts of the Middle East by Israel is only a positive development.

But commentators should be careful how they describe the agreement that ushers in any ceasefire.

Is it a ‘peace deal’? Perhaps.

Look, maybe not *all* ICE and CBP agents are bloodthirsty psychopaths, but there are plenty of stories like this one and the rest of them sure as shit don't seem to mind, so ...

CBP agents knocked on an El Paso home at 7:15 a.m.

The owner asked to secure his Rottweiler, Chop, in the bathroom.

While he got his ID, agents opened the door and shot Chop.

The family tried to save him as he bled out on the kitchen floor.

Perhaps the most shocking thing about ICE is that 100% of the operatives appear to be 100% willing to do Trump’s evil bidding.

So hundreds of men all over the country were just waiting for the executive call-up to commence the intimidation and kidnapping.

And they’re loving it.

Crazy.

Perfect.

America needs more of this. Less of the soft-ball, no follow-up questioning.

Hold them to account. Properly.

STEPHANOPOULOS: I didn't insinuate anything. I asked you whether Tom Homan accepted $50k as was heard on an audio tape recorded by the FBI in September 2024. You did not answer the question. Thank you for your time.

They'll claim ignorance about these types of incidents, but know the minutiae of detail about how 'Antifa' is funded, and where they're protesting next, and who their next 'target' is.

Politicians like Jeffries, and there are many more like him, think voters are stupid.

It's amazing how public officials who willingly go on TV to talk about these issues can claim ignorance about the very things they've come on to talk about, and it's treated like a legitimate answer.

Jim Jordan after he's played clips from videos of ICE brutalizing people, including American citizens: "I don't know the specifics of those examples you gave. What I do know is these ICE agents are under tremendous pressure ... I think they're doing a good job."

Indeed, the opposition subscribes to the same position as the government.

The message from Robert Jenrick has been clear. If you’re a far-right thug threatening migrants, refugees, or Muslims, then your rights to protest are to be protected at all costs. If you’re not then they won’t

Bridget Phillipson on Trevor Phillips’ show this morning, again asking protests about this particular subject to stop.

The same sentiment has not been expressed about far right extremist marches, like the Tommy Robinson ones.

What’s the difference?

Recently, since the terrorist attack on the Manchester synagogue, UK government ministers asked publicly for some protests to not go ahead, indeed opining that they’re in bad taste.

It’s perturbing that the same sentiments were not expressed prior to the racist Tommy Robinson march last month.

It’s sad to see the senility develop in real time with Trump.

This would be an outrageous thing to do for the person hoping to become one of the country's top law officers.

However, we know that that isn't Mosley's ultimate objective. Publicity and the Trumpification of the UK is what Jenrick and his kind covet most.

Blatant and abhorrent anti-Semitic abuse of a US Representative by James Vance, here.

If the UK is such a great Christian country with Christian and British values, where are all the protests in support of ending the illegal Russian occupation of fellow Christian nation, Ukraine?

Anything else - anti-Semitic abuse, racism, harassment, etc - that might happen at protests should also be pursued by the police accordingly.

But to seek to reduce or prohibit peaceful protest is profoundly undemocratic and profoundly un-British.

It’s generally agreed that people supporting prescribed terrorist organisations - Hamas, Hezbollah etc - should face the appropriate legal consequences. And that does indeed happen, as we have seen recently, with hundreds of arrests over recent weeks.

Listening to popular radio talkshows, listeners will call in and express views like, ‘Keir Starmer should stop the Gaza protests!’ and ‘We should go into universities and remove students who attend these protests! It’s shameful!’

These sentiments, again, are neither rational nor reasonable.

6/n
whitehalltimes.com
In the UK, it is currently hive-mind to believe that one cannot legitimately hold both these views simultaneously.

Indeed, to some, to do so is anti-Semitic.

To stifle debate and protest by belittling the serious issue of antisemitism is not a rational or reasonable position.

The atrocities committed in Israel by Hamas on October 7 are abhorrent and should be condemned without qualification.

The atrocities committed in Gaza and beyond by the IDF at Netanyahu’s government’s behest since the Hamas attacks are abhorrent and should be condemned without qualification.

While Palestine and its people get a reprieve, Netanyahu gets everything he wants at a very small price; a telephone apology to Qatar.

The ‘deal’ offered by Trump was effectively a blank cheque to Bibi; it implied to Hamas - ‘agree, or any modicum of military moderation will be removed.’

Is it something closer to a ‘do this or else’ deal? Probably.

Let’s take a look at the plan announced by Trump & Netanyahu at the White House recently.

If mentioned at all, the state of Palestine was only fleetingly or indirectly referred to.

The future of the nation is still uncertain.

Aside from the substance of the conversation and Piers’ obnoxiousness, it’s baffling that a former editor journalist cannot grasp that “they” is used as a singular term.

Instead of saying eg. “If he or she can…” one can say “If they can…” and have the same meaning.

He knows what he’s doing.
