CBP agents knocked on an El Paso home at 7:15 a.m.

The owner asked to secure his Rottweiler, Chop, in the bathroom.

While he got his ID, agents opened the door and shot Chop.

The family tried to save him as he bled out on the kitchen floor.

Perhaps the most shocking thing about ICE is that 100% of the operatives appear to be 100% willing to do Trump’s evil bidding.

So hundreds of men all over the country were just waiting for the executive call-up to commence the intimidation and kidnapping.

And they’re loving it.

The same sentiment has not been expressed about far right extremist marches, like the Tommy Robinson ones.

Recently, since the terrorist attack on the Manchester synagogue, UK government ministers asked publicly for some protests to not go ahead, indeed opining that they’re in bad taste.

It’s perturbing that the same sentiments were not expressed prior to the racist Tommy Robinson march last month.

Anything else - anti-Semitic abuse, racism, harassment, etc - that might happen at protests should also be pursued by the police accordingly.

But to seek to reduce or prohibit peaceful protest is profoundly undemocratic and profoundly un-British.

It’s generally agreed that people supporting prescribed terrorist organisations - Hamas, Hezbollah etc - should face the appropriate legal consequences. And that does indeed happen, as we have seen recently, with hundreds of arrests over recent weeks.

Listening to popular radio talkshows, listeners will call in and express views like, ‘Keir Starmer should stop the Gaza protests!’ and ‘We should go into universities and remove students who attend these protests! It’s shameful!’

These sentiments, again, are neither rational nor reasonable.

In the UK, it is currently hive-mind to believe that one cannot legitimately hold both these views simultaneously.

Indeed, to some, to do so is anti-Semitic.

To stifle debate and protest by belittling the serious issue of antisemitism is not a rational or reasonable position.

While Palestine and its people get a reprieve, Netanyahu gets everything he wants at a very small price; a telephone apology to Qatar.

The ‘deal’ offered by Trump was effectively a blank cheque to Bibi; it implied to Hamas - ‘agree, or any modicum of military moderation will be removed.’

Let’s take a look at the plan announced by Trump & Netanyahu at the White House recently.

If mentioned at all, the state of Palestine was only fleetingly or indirectly referred to.

The future of the nation is still uncertain.

Make no mistake, the cessation of indiscriminate bombing of Gaza and other parts of the Middle East by Israel is only a positive development.

But commentators should be careful how they describe the agreement that ushers in any ceasefire.

Is it a ‘peace deal’? Perhaps.

Aside from the substance of the conversation and Piers’ obnoxiousness, it’s baffling that a former editor journalist cannot grasp that “they” is used as a singular term.

Instead of saying eg. “If he or she can…” one can say “If they can…” and have the same meaning.

He knows what he’s doing.
