They only used the finest swan, I bet.
Hah, missed this. It happens in the Midlands too..some parents just can't resist the Richie Rich look.
For all the occasional rants about private schools on this channel, blimey, it doesn't half give attendees confidence.

Just been looking at a leadership coach with 6-7 years experience in advertising - now giving CEO leadership lessons.

I've cooked pasta off & on. Time to tell Zilli how to do it.
Proper comms idea, this (it has probably been going on for years, but eh, it's the first i've seen of it!)
Pet Classics is back for the 2025 fireworks season! 🐾

Dan Walker and Charlotte Hawkins will keep the nation’s pets calm through the whizzes and bangs of Bonfire Night, with two shows of relaxing music.

Oooh. This one sounds interesting. Did you meet dear old Big HAM himself?

NB, I remember a new business meeting with everyone's favourite Fevery tonic water. The poshest clients i've ever met.
Loudly discusses his favourite ales when at the cricket club.
He’d block your planning permission in an instant.
There's something sinister about Charlie Bigham. Can't put my finger on it. Feels like he's no stranger to making pies with quicklime.

I think i'll stick with COOK for my overpriced, over salted, lazy middle class person treat.
Hahaha. I just think it’s interesting.

Doesn’t grind my gears as much as ‘creative strategist’, the fun run of job titles.
There are so many fractional CMOs. Not quite as many 'leaders', but getting there.

Funny old thing, language:

Part time = weak, lazy
Fractional = smart, numerate, in demand
It really is. Brightened up this grey October day!
My sister’s just had her second child.

Mother, baby, family all doing well.

We’ve both mirrored the make up of our families - older boy, younger girl. Funny.

And now our hearts are full.
2010, playing golf in the snow.
The author, playing golf in the snow in Yorkshire. Thoroughly enjoying it, too.
Post a picture (or two) of you from a different era.

2014 (pre Mrs H, pre kids) - on my way to a wedding. Slight Bateman vibes.
The author, off to a wedding!
This caption is clickbait. Not quite what he said, or what was asked.
Yes, getting the time back is the thing. Well - my eldest said his line beautifully today, and I’m chuffed I was able to be there!

Hope you are well, Mark.
Good. The orange tango nazi didn’t bully his way to another ill-deserved garland.
Pleasing update. Lisbon strikes mean I’m back in Blighty today. The assembly is a go!
As was the style at the (very coke addled) time.

It's only with hindsight do I realise how many gigantic pricks I've worked with (and some total legends, but MY GOODNESS THERE WERE A LOT OF THE FORMER THERE)
Link? I have Views about this.
Having to travel with work, and missing my son’s harvest festival / leaving behind a cold ridden household.

I don’t know how execs in the 70s-00’s did it. This is the first thing I’ve missed, and I feel awful. (NB, my Dad was more of a road warrior than a flier, so he saw the bulk of my efforts!)
One small parenting reflection:

Why dress your u8 like they are a 45 year old trust funder?

They’ve their whole lives to consider chinos and a gilet, and a vanishingly small time to make sartorial choices which would get them locked up in later life.

Kids as wealth signalling is a choice.
Oh, I thought I wasn't going to like a lot of the canon, and surprised myself by really enjoying the more historically laden stuff (HELLO, MILTON).
Exeter's 'Past & Present' and 'Culture and Criticism' modules (one a quick run through of the classics - from the Bible to Crusoe, and one a whistlestop intro to cultural theory) was one of the big reasons I chose the course.
