The last day until a trip down under for Christmas (sadly, the laptop will be coming with me...but barring that)

Cannot wait. The first summer Christmas!

Originally, i'm from Worcestershire.

Believe me when I say - the shiniest pennies in the fountain don't tend to be found in Redditch; this is entirely believable.

New Home Office impact assessment finds that cutting skilled and social care visas will cost the UK up to £10 billion with a central estimate of -£5.4 billion.

It would be good if this got even a fraction of the coverage devoted to the endless debate about boats, flags and Turkish barber shops

My children are ALL IN to the Muppet Christmas Carol for the first time proper this year.

Excellent. Just need to work on their mince pie consumption.

Random recruiters who inexplicably have your phone number and text you to ask if you can chat...

...if you're like this with my personal details, what will you be like representing me?

Sending a QR code to a business for feedback?

Mangling 300+ CVs through an AI slop machine for buttons?

God, no.

The worst meal I’ve ever had in London, and I’ve eaten at an Angus Steakhouse.

In my corner of suburban Surrey, I’ve noticed a lot of very boring, yellow lights. More insanity in the light choices, please.

Up with colourful christmases!
Down with White Company-ification!

You can never judge a pitch until both sides have batted.

It makes you realise a) How bloody stupid Brook was and b) How Starc is a cut above every other bowler on display.

Glenn McGrath talking pap on TMS. I'd rather 320+ with a batter remaining.

4ish wickets under lights is wishful thinking.

Over 300 and a Root century. That will very much do.

So thrilled for Joe Root. What a player.

Wearily reading the same tired polemics about how agency people can wear lots of different hats. In my experience, the best strategists aren’t the best creatives, or account men. Or producers.

It’s wishful thinking, designed to be a salve. Trade on your actual skills. Writing, synthesising, etc.

I have no interest in Scott Galloway's opinion about men, someone who thinks blokes shouldn't go out unless they automatically pick up the tab.

The 1950s called, they want their views back.

<Insert joke about middle aged planning / creative directors here>
I've worn really distinctive clothing for years but in my 60s I just felt I wanted to look normal. I gave a dozen boxes of clothes to the local charity shop and now I keep seeing people in my old clothes; I realised I have looked like a twat for years.

Brand worlds are back, everyone.

Looking forward to the Finish Dishwasher tablet world, though you could argue we exist in one, as there's lots of frothing and some things end up squeaky clean despite all the muck they've accumulated.
