EXCLUSIVE: One Saturday afternoon in October, my phone lit up with a notification.

I glanced down at the message.

“Anna, Lindsey Halligan here,” it began.

So began my text exchange with the woman who is prosecuting the president's perceived political enemies.

Drops off every Christmas (work-related), massively spikes in first days of pandemic, stays high in lock-downs and Christmases, then returns to form over the last three years.

But nah, not convincing myself here, tbh...

I wondered if people see the warning in time to switch it off in case they have a condition where they’d react to it. But I don’t know how long a typical reaction would be 🤷🏻‍♂️
That GIF would come with a strobing warning on TV.

One of the funny things about chatgpt pivoting to porn is that Meta already tried that just a few months ago.

Zuckerberg made a John Cena chatbot that would sext with children.

Then, a few months later, Zuckerberg *did it again*. Same results.

The #firstbrands debacle continues to make headlines. As I hinted at before, worth keeping an eye on with regards to its effects on the financing available to the #ai bubble.
I can’t help but think the interviewer is wilfully misunderstanding the ‘2 hour’ point in order to generate a story. It’s not two hours from ‘when you park’. Just a limit on how much footage will be watched.

I touched on this a little in here - the use of ’individual use cases’ ignores the social, relational implications.

But even the individual use cases they use feel like they’ve never been in these situations. Or actually scalable to make sense of the valuations.

Slightly astounded that someone at Conservative HQ has decided that a *seven letter* acronym is a good thing to put their leader on the radio to try and remember. Straight from The Thick Of It.

(Meanwhile: this interview is not going well)

I resisted for as long as I can, but I have now upgraded to IOS 26.

I am trying not to, but coming to the conclusion that I hate #liquidglass.

Never before has a software update halved the perceived value of the hardware in your hand so quickly.

The UX equivalent of Fox’s Glacier Mints.
Saw @tomchatfield.bsky.social last week, and he gave me a sneak peek at his forthcoming book ‘How To Think Clearly’, where he’d pointed to my #cognitivedebt coinage from earlier this year.

So I have written a proper page laying out the thinking, examples etc… smithery.com/cognitive-de...

Douglas Barrowman and Michelle Mone's company, PPE Medpro, has just been ordered to refund the Government £122m from a PPE contract.

There are two very odd things about PPE Medpro that may affect the odds of the Government ever getting that £122m...
