For me it’s make a MH shortfilm, learn 3D animation, learn to code in unreal, make a large 3D game, find and work an animation job, learn the harmonica, longboard, make crafts mostly to make gifts for my girlfriend, buff up my arms and legs, make videos about media I love and why I adore it and ye 😭

Idk, at some point, I'll genuinely structure all my thoughts as to what i think made the og games are Monster HUNTER games instead of Monster FIGHTER games and how onboarding new players to mechanics that are more SIM like creates a fantasy of fighting against the odds vs the warrior Power fantasy

It was doing 8-10 hours of 1 star low rank missions that gave you time to really learn the map (not just have map that tells you where everything is), and in turn made even shitty monsters like a GIADROME feel like a BOSS.

Wilds accomplishes so much Capcom shouldnt be scared of making players WORK

Its such an rich mix of "the best the series has ever been" and "the farthest from what really made you feel like a hunter in this world". The annoyances and difficulty from the OG game made you feel like someone who overcame and grew

Its the most POWER FANTASY the series has ever been (imo thats a bad thing) BUT for the first time the series, environments feel TRULY alive, I can walk through the scarlet forest and see a pack of Conga moving through the bushes, the only indicator they are there is the yellow glow from their eyes.

I really want to write and or a record my thoughts on Wilds, that game is so complex that simply saying "its amazing" or "its shit" doesn't do even a semblance of justice. The streamlining complains are so real and valid, it kills all the things that made the series immersive

Between commission , making storyboards for a portfolio, trying to learn 3D so i can apply to those jobs I am SLOWLY making progress on this.

But I love MH, Rajang and Brachy so much. I think even if it takes me longer than I hoped I really wanna polished and completed <3 🥊

I had to entirely re-export this. I drew it nine years ago and the files were corrupted.

It was funny opening up the old files and seeing how different my priorities were and how many basic mistakes I was making.

This sequence was my baby back then and I remember being so proud of it.
