As a Labour Party member and a woman I am saddened to see this response from Leader of Brighton & Hove Council, Bella Sankey. No mention of the trans activists violence being directed at a feminist women's conference.

What are the students supposed to do with a student room when they move away?
What about when the university or private landlord owns a house? Can the middle class parents of one student buy it and rent to their housemates?

Private Eye offers up an excellently scornful commentary on the relentless polling. It’s become ridiculous and has oversimplified our politics to dangerous levels of stupid and irresponsible.

I do biomedical research to help people. When people come in this space making things up, it makes it harder for people not in the field to trust the extensive studies that we do and distinguish fact from fiction. Baseless claims reduce future cures. Willful ignorance drives us backwards.

I mean, I'm just a lowly academic with an eye on the welfare of my students, who shouldn't be pushing out local families but who in some cases have their own families that they bring to university with them so don't want to share with students... Gosh, it's ever so simple, isn't it?

As a university lecturer, are they assuming that all university administered rentals count as "social housing"? And they're going to force universities to buy all the private halls and shared houses in their area, but give them money to do it?

Why, you might ask, as a housing lawyer have I not commented on the Green Party's new policy to end the private rented sector? Simple answer - it is mad. I'm all in favour of largely ending the PRS, but their policy is simply, practically, mad. Bring back an owl for everybody and then we are talking

Everyone knows what a woman is when it's time to decide who will be a surrogate or who to tell they'll be getting a great job in the West and then lock up in a brothel. Nobody is confused then.

I'm guessing she's pro VAWG then. Or maybe pro trafficking for prostitution or against poverty reduction or equal rights for migrant women?
